Our trip with TreXperience was so special. Not only were we encouraged and supported by our guides Edy and Yoner all along the way, learning so much about the Inca… read more trail and it’s history, keeping us smiling and laughing. We were also blown away by the quality of food for each meal by our chef Rolando, so well fed with so much variety and catered to all dietary requirements.
The views of the doing the trail alone were breath taking and I felt a real sent of accomplishment completing the 4 days. I highly recommend this trek, it’s truly been once in a life time.
The Inca Trail was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Expensive but worth every penny. They did everything in their power to make our experience the best… read more it could have been. The food was amazing, and there was a lot! We woke up with a coca tea every morning, a huge varied breakfast, beautiful lunch later on, “happy hour” with lots of snacks and hot drinks followed by buffet dinner with delicious local dishes and nutritious food. There were plenty delicious vegetarian options. On our treks, the views were breathtaking. The trekking was at points challenging on the second day but accessible to all levels and very rewarding. The tour guides were very supportive and always making sure everyone was doing well. Eddy and Juan had a lot of knowledge about the Incas and beautiful stories to tell us about their culture. They were clearly very passionate and love their job. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is lucky enough to do it!
Our group of five took the 5 day Trexperience Salkantay Trek and it was really fantastic. We can only recommend it to anyone thinking of taking on the challenge (it… read more wasn’t actually as hard as we thought it would be but we are quite a fit group!). Our guide Adolfo had lots of great history and stories to tell, which were usually accompanied by ridiculously good food cooked by Amilcar and his team. Seriously, we ate better than we did in Cusco most nights!
The camping equipment was all of a very good standard, and the added touch of a hot water bottle on night one which was the coldest (-5C degrees) was hugely appreciated by all. In addition, the logistics of our trip w ere incredibly well organised thanks to Amilcar, Elmer, Wilburgh and Cecilio, meaning that nothing was amiss and we did everything in good time.
We were very unlucky with our weather on Day 5, and unfortunately the clouds never parted for us to get a full view of Machu Picchu, which Adolfo told us had never happened in his 15 years of experience (cries inside). Nonetheless, he was very cheerful and told us all the history very enthusiastically to still make it a memorable experience.
If we trek in Cusco again, I think Trexperience would certainly be our choice and our group would all highly recommend to others.
Thanks Adolfo and team!

And… read more this is in addition to being on an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. And did I mention the food? Holy smokes! Better than any food I had in Lima or Cusco (or in most places, really). I could not recommend this trip more—start to finish (even with some pretty intense, high altitude hiking) WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life! My husband and I booked the private 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu through Trexperience because of the great reviews,… read more and they exceeded every expectation. We were lucky enough to have Vincent as our guide – he was the best! He was a wonderful storyteller, a patient and encouraging guide, and very flexible with personalizing the experience for us. He had an answer for every question we had, and would occasionally ask us questions that we wouldn’t know the answer to – resulting in some of the most ridiculous jokes I’ve ever heard. Vincent also had a true respect and reverence for his history and traditional Inca customs, it was a beautiful experience to learn from him. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to lead us to Machu Picchu!
Before starting the trail, we decided to stay overnight in Ollantaytambo to have a later wake up time (7AM pickup instead of 4AM, highly recommend). We decided to go with the private tour instead of a group because we wanted to go at our own pace, and honestly it wasn’t that much more expensive than the group tour – especially worth it when we considered the level of effort to get out there in the first place. We started the day on the Panoramic train to KM 104. Try to get seats on the side by the river. It’s beautiful from every angle, but that was definitely the place to get the best views. After getting off the train, we crossed the bridge and were greeted by an Andean Motmot! Such a lucky bird sighting! We were also fortunate to do the hike at the end of April, there were thousands of different orchids blooming on the trail.
Right away, you encounter the Inca Site of Chachabamba, directly across the river. It’s a great start to the trail before the ascent. The first half of the hike up to Wiñay Wayna was entirely uphill, it’s challenging but definitely doable. For reference, my husband and I are in our early-30s and moderately fit – we exercise regularly, but nothing can really prepare you for the altitude. Definitely stay in Cusco a couple days, drink lots of coca tea, and do what you need to do to adjust. After about 2.5 hours, we entered into a shaded area with a beautiful waterfall that we took a nice rest at. About 20 minutes from there, we reached Wiñay Wayna! This site alone is seriously worth the effort, it’s unbelievable from every direction. From there, the trail becomes a lot easier. Not as much continuous incline, Vincent referred to this part as "Inca flat" (basically quick ups and downs for the remainder of the hike). After one last push up a couple of daunting staircases, we reached the Sun Gate! It’s a surreal and spiritual experience, I can’t really put into words how special it was to see Machu Picchu in the distance. A little bit more walking from Intipunku, and we arrived at the bus station to be transported to Aguas Claientes.
The next morning, we woke up early and hopped on the same bus to be taken back to Machu Picchu. We had reserved tickets to climb Huayna Picchu, which we were feeling a bit nervous about, but I am so glad we did it. Honestly, the view at the top was worth every single stair to get up there. There were so many beautiful orchids, butterflies, and birds that provided great incentive (an excuse) to take rests on the way up. A true highlight of the experience! We still had plenty of time in Machu Picchu itself to see all of the temples and walk through the ruins. When our time was up, we said goodbye and hopped on the panoramic train in Aguas Calientes to return to Cusco in time for dinner and an early night of sleep.
This experience provided me with two of the best days of my life, and I could not recommend it more highly. A huge part of our experience was sharing it with Vincent, and I would absolutely recommend traveling with him if you can. We’re already planning on coming back to do the 4-day trail with him in the future! Until then, my husband and I will cherish the memories made on this unforgettable trip.
Unbelievable experience only made possible by the team at Trexperience. The tour guides (Eddie and Jonah) were great at guiding us the way around the Inca Trail and the story… read more telling at all the key archaeological sites and checkpoints were great and informative.
The head chef was incredible also who cooked delicious food at every meal, above and beyond everything I expected here.
And last but not least the porters. These guys were the reason we were able to have this experience at all. The unsung heroes of the trip who I admire so much with the work they put in in carrying around our luggage and helping to set the camp sites up every day.
The whole group were exceptional and made my life so easy during a naturally difficult journey. I couldn’t recommend this group of people more. I felt a bond with the team and I’m sad that the journey is over. Until next time chicos.

The porters and chefs are incredible and support the trip in crazy ways by bringing your duffle and campsite equipment to multiple checkpoints. The food was amazing and blew me away, especially since you’re in the jungle and mountains. They are able to produce such an amazing meal every time, even baking a cake for us on the last day! You’ll never go hungry trust me.
Overall I really recommend TreXperience for anyone looking to travel to Machu Picchu, the staff from top to bottom were fantastic and make the experience stress free!
Thank you Charlie and Sarah for being such amazing guides!!
Nature, Inka’s elements with all their history, great food and a lot of fun. I think this is the best away to get to machu picchu!
Thanks to our guides… read more NILO and YONER I had the opportunity to better understand the Inka colture and to have a lot of fun! These 2 guys are incredible! As well as the chef’s team that provided us such great food, also the dishes for the vegetarian were incredible. I raccomando you

I suggest also to do the inka trail and not other trails because of alla the Inka elements and because once I get to machu pichu, I swear, it will taste different than just taking a bus or a train in one day!

Jose, the tour guide was an absolute standout. I was on a no-fuss business trip and had the weekend to acclimatise in Cusco. My colleague and I were after… read more a tour which was efficient, took us to all the right places and required minimal effort on our part – this was that tour.
From the moment Jose picked us up at our hotel, we were treated with the best logistically organised and informative tour we could have hoped for. This was made possible by Jose, given his extensive 13 years experience across the continent as a tour guide he made our journey easy and stress-free. He also taught us how to take the BEST Iphone pics (as a value-add) and was more than happy to share story and a laugh.
What a delightful, stress-free tour. There is no way we would have been able to see what we did in the time with as little stress were it not for Jose and this tour. Well worth it and will be recommending to others.
A supposedly straightforward 3 hour private guide for Machu Picchu ended up being very challenging and was anything but straightforward before it even began.
First off, there was a… read more strike that prevented us from getting to Aguas Calientes the day before the scheduled activity. This resulted in plans being changed. Then, my personal hotspot was acting up so I had spotty internet access when not in our hotel. As a result, communication with the company to arrange for a meeting place became almost impossible. Tom (Travel Advisor) was very patient in dealing with me and our agonizing back and forth emails especially since I also didn’t have WhatsApp so there was no way I could directly communicate with our guide Nohemi. To add insult to injury, the people in charge of the buses that go up the mountain wouldn’t let us get on the bus until just 40 minutes before our scheduled entry time. The long line meant that we didn’t get to the entrance until just a few minutes before our 12 noon entry time.
Nohemi was patiently waiting for us at the entrance of the citadel when we finally showed up. We appreciated her patience with all the issues we’ve encountered. And she did a wonderful job giving us insights about Machu Picchu – she answered all our questions and dispelled false notions that we’ve had. Moreover, she also served as our de facto photographer. She offered to take our photos at every opportunity and knew how to frame shots. She’s very personable and certainly knows her stuff.
The tour was conducted at a very leisurely pace and we never felt rushed. She gave us every opportunity to just gaze at the marvel before us and soak it in. It took us close to 3 hours from start to finish and we felt that the time was ample enough to really enjoy the experience.
When the tour was over and we returned to Aguas Calientes, Nohemi still volunteered to take more pictures of us there and then when we asked her for restaurant recommendations, she not only gave us one. She personally walked us to the restaurant and spoke with the staff there to tell them about our preferences. THAT, was above and beyond what was necessary.
Overall, I highly recommend this company.

Thanks to our chef for catering to our every need and dietary restrictions and providing us with the most delicious meals!
Will definitely miss this experience of a lifetime.
I was looking for an alternative trekking experience and came across Huchuy Qosqo +Inca Trail 4D offered by Trexperience.
I’m a solo traveler so I booked just for… read more myself and it also turned out I was the only person (still low no. of tourists in post-pandemic and everyone goes for Inca or Salkantay trek) to book this trekking on specific dates.
Trexperience therefore basically organised a private trekking for me. For the first two days it was just me, my guide Maribel, chef Samuel and sous-chef Cipriano trekking to Huchuy Qosqo. And they took such a great care of me. Maribel is a fantastic and passionate guide with great English. She was my mom, my sister, my friend, my guide, my everything for two days. She’s also super knowledgeable about all the fauna and flora in the Andes and also she knows a lot about the Inca history. I could have not wished fot a better guide than Maribel!
Samuel and Cipriano were a great company too. And they were preparing delicious food. It was a true gourmet experience! Meals were big and they prepared variety of delicious food.
Maribel, Samuel and Cipriano were like family to me and I’m so grateful for the time we spent together. The last day they also taught me how to make a traditional Peruvian bbq! :)
Oh and I highly recommend Huchuy Qosqo trekking, beautiful landscapes and views. A lot of llamas and alpacas but no tourists or crowds like on Inca/Salkantay trek.
The next two days I joined a small group of five for the Short Inca trail. Also a great experience and I recommend asking for Jose Luis (Pepe). He is fun and experienced Machu Picchu guide!
Overall I highly recommend Trexperience!
I have spent an absolutely amazing (and exhausting) 4 days hiking the Inca Trail with Trexperience. I travelled with friends to Peru so that we could complete this challenge together… read more and the experience did not disappoint. Our guides Charly and Sarita have been attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and have truly made this adventure for us! We have been supported by a fantastic team of porters and have been spoiled by incredible food from the chefs. This is the first time I have attempted something like this, and I would 100% recommend Trexperience to anyone wanting to expand their horizons and see more of the world’s rich history.

The route was incredible, every day breath-taking. The opportunity to understand the Quechua and Inkan culture and history was invaluable. Of course Macchu Pichu was incredible but the highlight, by far, was the days before.
Would recommend to anyone! Thank you to TreXperience.
I did the two day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu excursion with Robinzon as our guide. I am 43 and in good shape (HIIT workouts 2-3 times per week… read more and typically a 5K run each week). The trail wasn’t too bad, although parts could be challenging. I completed the trip in tennis shoes.
Robinzon was AMAZING!! He went at our pace (my 67 yo mother was with us) and was very patient. He was also very knowledgeable about history, flora, and fauna. Robinzon made sure we knew what was going on for each part of our trip and that we were taken care of- even checking in on mom the day after our trip! He took great pictures of us to document our experience. I wouldn’t have wanted any other guide- Robinzon was great!!
We had Charlie as our tour guide and he was awesome! Really nice and friendly and very knowledgeable about nature and Incan history. I was really thankful that he stopped… read more multiple times during our hike so I could take breaks and he made sure no one was left behind (we had a mix of faster hikers and slower hikers in our group). Charlie was also a really good photographer and will take many many beautiful pictures of you! Our trail tickets only let us into Machu Picchu once (no bathrooms inside Machu Picchu), however, my boyfriends stomach was not feeling well and we needed to use the restroom mid tour, Charlie was able to talk to the ticketing counter to get us an exception so we could re-enter Machu Picchu again. We absolutely loved the packed lunch on our hike, however we did not enjoy the dinner chosen by the tour company. The restaurant they chose was low quality with limited options. We ended up going to eat somewhere else after the group dinner was over.
This was such an amazing experience! Our guide Charly was great at explaining about the flora and fauna, and telling us about the history of the ruins. The first day… read more hike is challenging but possible for most people to manage, and it is definitely worth it!!!
We would recommend a trip with Trexperience because they gave us plenty of information beforehand, and the entire trip went smoothly and exceeded our expectations.
This was not just a four day hike. It was a total experience from learning about Incas history from our amazing tour guide Edy, to experience authentic Peruvian food in… read more the middle of mountains by chef Raymundo, to appreciate the humbleness and kindness of porters who carried all the necessary stuff for us and make us feel welcomed and appreciated.
