An incredible experience. I would definitely recommend using trexperience for any trek, especially the 4 day salkantay. Nilo, our guide, was amazing. He made everyone feel comfortable, was very insightful… read more and had great stories. The food was delicious. Raymundo y Jhonan made great authentic Peruvian cuisine. They always made more than enough for everyone to leave the table satisfied. Augostino packed everything for us very thoroughly and got all of our stuff to camp safely. You will see incredible sights and have the time of your life. Don’t hesitate booking with trexperience and ask for Nilo
The trip was amazing experience! Everything was really well organised. The night before the adventure we had a meeting when everything about the tour was explained and all questions were… read more answered. Campsites were really great equipped, with our own toilet, good tents and proper sleeping bags (up to -10deg, so we didn’t get cold at night). And food at the campsite is as just great! Lunches and dinners with a few courser, breakfast full of options like pancakes, fruits, eggs. Everything was super delicious! Our guide JJ was incredibly amazing. He explained us everything about Incas culture and habits. He told us story of each temple we passed. Fully recommend to experience the Inca trail with this company!
We had such great 4 days with our group! Our guides Robinzon and Soledad made sure we were having the best time, looking after us, motivating us, telling us some… read more history and legends. Robinzon went out of his way to get us the best viewing spots, the best places to camp, rest, etc. He was always positive, joking, keeping our spirits up :) and special thanks for a coffee at the mountain top! Soledad was very caring, tranquil, patient and was tending to our needs. Thanks a lot guys! It’s been a pleasure to get to know you and you made our experience so much better!
The porters and chefs were amazing! Camp was always ready when we got there, they were helpful and willing to assist if needed. Can’t praise the chef enough who in some magic way managed to create such amazing dishes, with decoration, imagination put into them! Bravo!
Thanks a lot to the whole crew!
My tour guide was Agustin and he was amazing! He was on time, flexible and very informative! When we got off the train, Augustin had my name written on a… read more piece of paper waving it to make sure we could see him! We arrived at around 12:20pm but we were a little hungry, so we asked him if it’s possible we could eat. He agreed and told us to enjoy 1 hour for lunch then the tour would start afterwards. The tour didn’t finish until 5pm-ish so just calculate the time he spent with us. He took his time with us and there were only two of us in our private tour. So he really went into the details. He also took amazing pictures of us!! I would definitely ask him to be my tour guide again when I come back to Peru! And yes, he got a well deserved tip! ;)
Best experience ever!
We had the best experience through the Inca Trail for four days with an amazing team.
JJ and Juan were amazing tour guides, very knowledgeable and… read more friendly.
They shared all the information they knew about this amazing culture and the Inca history, while providing us with the best comfort along with the outstanding and very hardworking porters.
My partner and I are vegan, and Raymundo, the head chef, ensured we had very nutritious, varied and delicious vegan meals the whole time.
We had an amazing time during our 4 day trek, and we would definitely recommend this amazing team to take you through magical Machu Picchu.
Thank you guys! Sol and Fede.
I was super nervous ahead of starting the trip but wow it exceeded every expectation! They very quickly put my nerves at ease and I enjoyed every second!! We were… read more in a small group of 5 which was brilliant! The whole team including guide, chef and porters were so friendly and supportive! Special mention to Jose Luis for being so positive and upbeat throughout the trip. Little by little we did it!! I can’t recommend this trip enough with these guys.
Had 2 guides, Robinson and Walter. Very helpful, knowledgeable and experience. They made my trip very memorable. Thanks
This experience was great! Franklin and Sarah were very accommodating and spoke very good English! Their knowledge of incan history was great and informative! It was a great trip! Sarah… read more took me and my friend up Machu Picchu mountain privately on day 2. Sarah was great with taking photos and made the experience much better! Thank you!
This was a great experience! I would recommend it to all! The inca trail was beautiful and our tour guide, Pepe, was wonderful! He gave us great information about incase… read more and their history, as well as the inca trails. The first day was a beautiful hike, which was challenging enough! The second day was all about Machu Picchu. We spent the night in a hotel, which was refreshing. I recommend this tour to anyone who is a hiker!
This was the most impressive excursion I have ever participated from start to finish.
The journey you take is breathtaking right from the start it passed all my expectations.
This… read more was all thanks to ( Carlos Ccolcca ) the tour guide who guided us all through the 31 miles of mind blowing sights and Inca ruins , he was very well spoke which helped me been from the UK , his undertaking of the tour and Knowledge was over whelming such a credit to the company ( Trexperience) his chief ( Julio Cesar ) produced the most amazing ,flavoursome dishes from early morning to Happy hour to the evening it was a pleasure from start to finish and much needed with accomplishing the passes through this magical Inca Trail.
Credit aswell to the porters who accomplished the whole trail with all are equipment and your personal belongings to make your excursion as comfortable as possible.
Thanks Carlos and the team made this life achievement the best experience it could of been for me.
Best regards
David
Despite being a solo traveller, my guide Sara made it seem as if I went for the trip with a friend. From start to finish, she was very knowledgeable and… read more respected one’s physical limitations when you are reaching 5000m above sea level and just come off of a 4 day Inca Trail! I would imagine most companies just pick you up, take you there and then drop you back but this tour had GOURMET breakfast and lunch included prepared by the genius chef that is Lorenzo with his assistant Miguel looking out onto the mountain range. The driver James was equally incredible driving for several hours on roads that many would not dare to try.
Fantastic Guides Carlos and Joao expertly led our group on a challenging but beautiful and informative trek. They made sure everyone was safe and having fun the whole time. Food… read more by chef Julio Cesar was fantastic as was the service by our amazing set of attentive porters. Highly recommended!
This was one of the most amazing excursions of my life! I’m a pretty experienced traveler and been on many tours, and this was something else. It was extremely well… read more organized, the porters were super heroes, and our chef Julio Cesar was a master in the kitchen! Our meals were so thoughtful and delicious. It’s amazing what he can put together in the middle of nowhere with such an amazing staff to help him. Everyone with the company was very thoughtful and helpful with anything we needed.
Our guide, Carlos Ccolcca, was the absolute best! He was so knowledgeable and personable. He really took care of us during the entire trip.
What wasn’t expected was that in our group of 7, which would be a great for intimacy and bonding, there would be a couple from the Netherlands who were VERY sick and demanded much of our guide’s time. They were unbelievably rude and selfish as to their needs when they should have ultimately decided NOT to take part in a physically demanding multiple day hike. We also had three teenagers who were not accompanied by their parent. The kids also hiked as fast as possible from point A to point B, leaving the rest of the group behind. Our guide had to stay behind with the sick people for safety reasons. The parent of said teenagers apparently decided that our guide was supposed to be their babysitter, and made it known that she felt her children should have been watched over 24-7, which in this situation with the Dutch couple, was not possible. Carlos did the absolute best he could in the situation and to make our time memorable.
Anyone who takes part in a tour knows how important the synchronicity of a group is to the overall experience, and unfortunately selfish sick people and unaccompanied children aren’t a great contribution to that. Tour gets 5 stars, but our group gets 2 stars!
Can’t recommend this company enough. Our guides, Robby and Sol, were very knowledgeable and taught us all so much about the Inca history and culture along our hike. The food… read more was above and beyond, and the porters are truly heroes. The crew brought us hot tea in the mornings and even had hot water outside our tents every morning to wash our faces. Such an unbelievable experience!
This trip was a long time bucket list and it was MAGICAL. Our guides, Edy and Joao and team were knowledgeable about history, flora, fauna, anything we asked. They were… read more patient with varying trekking abilities within our group. The kindness and hospitality of the entire team was extraordinary. I will remember the beauty of the trip and people for a lifetime.
But the small things…
Because I asked, experiencing a Quechua ceremony as we started our final day to Machu Picchu was truly special.
We mentioned a significant birthday of one of our group. We didn’t ask for anything special but a birthday cake and singing from the entire team was a special memory. The food was amazing on the entire trip but how does a two-layer decorated cake appear from a cook tent!?!
Thank you Edy and Joao and the entire team!
Russel and Rosa gave us an amazing tour with lots of information on the history of inca sites and information along the trail. We visited many picturesque places and managed… read more to be the first group to Macchu Picchu helping avoid major crowds. Julio Cesar was our chef who cooked many delicious and filling meals and catered to dietary requirements.

We had a wonderful time on the 4 day machu picchu trek – it was hard work but so rewarding. Arriving to the sun gate and seeing the sun come… read more up over machu picchu was magical and an experience I’ll never forget. The guides jose luis and filio were fantastic, knowledgable and were incredibly supportive during the hike. It was wonderful to arrive at the campsites with the tents erected, hot water waiting for us and a round of applause from the incredible porters. The food was very good and plentiful – complements to the great chef Senshe.
This company "suggests" that everyone should tip 80-100 sols to each porters and 10-15% of the tour fee to guide as a tip after booking. it’s not right to… read more inform that after booking. Even though each tour company said that tips are not included. but I have asked people who booked other travel agencies and there is no "suggestion" on how much to tip.
The tour fee is 700 US dollars per person. Even if each person gives minimum 10% as the tips(70USD), our group was 16 people, then that is 1,120 US dollars for the tour guides for 4 days working. I think that’s too much. I’m totally fine with the tips for porters, because they really did hard work. but giving 70 USD for our tour guides? Nope
We had an amazing experience! The 2day activity had a nice balance of physical exersion, sight seeing, and culture. Our tour lead, Pepe, was very knowledgeable and fun. We are… read more so happy with this experience.
Recently completed the 4 day 3 night classic Inka Trail with Trexperience. What an amazing experience. The company was professional from start to finish. They have high quality equipment, attentive… read more and incredibly hard working porters and chefs (the food was amazing, not what I was expecting when trekking and camping in the mountains) and of course our fun local guide Robbie who was first class with his fluent English, great knowledge of the Inkan/pre-Inkan sites we visited as well as history and culture of the local area and people. Special thanks for putting up with our endless questions (!) and making sure each of us in the group got what we wanted from the experience. And for the 4am daily coca tea !
Not an easy hike but achievable for various ages and fitness levels and worth ticking off the bucket list. I’d highly recommend Trexperience.

Would definitely recommend the tour to anyone who doesn’t want to only take the quick picture of Machu Picchu.
Amazing tour! Our guide Jose Luis was very knowledgeable and provided amazing insights into the Inca culture throughout the trip. The hotel and the included dinner were decent, but nothing… read more special. Overall, a very recommendable tour that you will surely enjoy just as much as we did. We were also very lucky to be with a nice a friendly group of young people.
We recently took part in the Salkantay Trek and loved every minute. Our guide Manolo was a constant source of positive energy from dawn til dusk (or after dusk)! He… read more told us stories of the Incas, of the stars and of the different Quechua communities and kept us entertained when the going (altitude) got tough. Melchor served up excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and somehow managed to bake a pie and a cake after a long day of trekking. Pedro and Juan were excellent su chefs and porters, waking us up with hot coca tea in the mornings and ensuring we had warm water to wash our hands and faces with after a long day of hiking, and even bringing us hot water bottles to keep us warm on the first and second night.
Communication from Trexperience in the run up to the trek was fantastic. The whole trek was organised really well, from collection from our hostel on the first day to drop off on the last day (including collecting our luggage from the office and then the onward travel from the office back to our hostel). Everything ran smoothly without the slightest glitch. Would highly recommend!
This was an amazing trip that was incredibly well run and thoughtfully arranged! Everything dramatically exceeded expectations, particularly the Trexperience team. Our guide Carlos Colca was helpful, knowledgeable and facilitated… read more a great group dynamic that was important as a solo traveler who had never done a group trip like this before. The chefs Celso and Abel worked nonstop preparing incredible three course meals in tents at 13k feet. Could not be happier or more impressed with how everything went. No prob-llamas.
Hike to Machu Picchu was amazing, good organisation, delicious food and what was the most important – our guide Felix showed us and told a lot about history of Inca,… read more local culture and tradition.
I can really recommend this company and for sure the best guide Felix!
Anna from Poland :)
I had a great time on the 2-day Inca trail with Pepe! He provided very thorough explanations all throughout the trek and answered my many questions. With his experience as… read more both a ranger at Machu Picchu and a tour guide, we got to hear some unique stories and information about the site. During the hike there were many stops to accommodate the speed of everyone in the group. The lunch with veg option was more than enough and really yummy. The train option was epic. I highly recommend it!
Favorite part? Everything. I wouldn’t change a single thing about this trip. Charlie, Sarita, and our chef, sous chef, and porters were just such an attentive and caring team. And… read more this is in addition to being on an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. And did I mention the food? Holy smokes! Better than any food I had in Lima or Cusco (or in most places, really). I could not recommend this trip more—start to finish (even with some pretty intense, high altitude hiking) WORTH EVERY PENNY.
The guides Robinson and Sol were very caring and looked after us very well. They explained a lot and also told us fun stories in the evening.
The Classic Salkantay trek introduces not only the eyes but the soul to many different beautiful natural sights throughout Peru, all leaving you breathless (literally). It was my first trekking… read more experience, and it wouldn’t have gone as well if it wasn’t for our guide Nilo. Not only was Nilo an excellent guide, who was well versed in the knowledge surrounding the region and history, but he was also a great leader who would always go out of his way to make sure everyone was safe. He would stay with the last person in the group, making them not feel like a burden and helping with all of our needs along the trek. We were always met with great nutritious meals delivered by our chef Vacilio and sous chef Eusebio, which would enable us to travel great distances. Lastly, our personal belongings would always greet us at our campsites or before meals due to the extraordinary diligence of our horseman Frank. I had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go on more trekking experiences.
If I could rate higher than five stars I would. The MOST amazing trip!!! Perfect five days of an incredible trek, everything was meticulously planned and seamless. The food was… read more phenomenal, our chefs Celso and Abel took care to make three amazing meals a day with snacks throughout the day. The food was certainly a highlight of the trip— you will not go hungry with these guys. We had a group of 6 plus five porters and our amazing guide Carlos Colca. The atmosphere was so fun, we always had something to do and the equipment was high quality, clean and comfortable. The hotel on the last night was beautiful as well. I seriously cannot recommend this trip enough.

4 days of beautiful scenery and amazing hosts. The tour guide Bernabe made the trip so special, was super friendly… read more and had lots of amazing information to share. We ate so well every day thanks to the chef Timo, some of the best food I’ve had in Peru and we even got a cake for our friends birthday!
Would highly recommend!
The four day trek is a unique way to learn about and appreciate the local culture and nature. We had taken the train to Macchu Picchu a few years earlier… read more but the hiking trip really puts this unique wonder in perspective. Carlos and Joao were awesome guides; knowledgeable, experienced, patient. Given the restrictions by the ministry of culture— e.g. the locations of campsites and the facilities, the tour company has done an awesome job. The food by the chef Julio Cesar, was amazing: a high end introduction to the Peruvian cuisine. A team of porters had to transport everything on foot up to the three camp sites and cook the food on site. Everything was provided by the team- tours of Inca sites along the way and of course the tour of Machu Picchu at the end.
Robinson and Sol were amazing tour guides!! They were so informative and helpful throughout the 4 days and made sure the whole group were having an amazing time.
The chefs… read more were amazing- best food I’ve ever eaten! There was so much food and they catered so well for all dietary requirements. The porters were so good as well, they worked so hard for us and still seemed so happy. Amazing trip overall
This Salkantay Trek was absolutely amazing!! Our Guide Carlos Colca was the best guide I have ever had!! He taught us all about the Inca history and interesting facts on… read more each day of every hike. Most importantly he always made sure we were all comfortable, happy, and provided an experience better than I could have imagined. Thank you Carlos for some of the best 5 days of my life!
Seriously this trek was challenging, but Trexperience had everything planned out perfect. Even down to the little details such as luggage storage or pick up, they have everything organized so you can have 5 days of no prob-llama’s.
Our chefs and porters worked so hard and made the trek so much easier for us. Thank you to our chefs Celso and Abel for the incredible food each and everyday! Every meal was fantastic!! It’s amazing what they can cook in the mountains.
I signed up for this trek with my girlfriend and there were and we started with four other strangers. Carlos turned us into family and I hope to stay connected with these new friends in the future.
Book the trek already, you won’t regret it.
Our guide Luis was helpful and had always interesting informations for us. He patiently tried to fulfill all the wishes of all guests. He was like a friend and we… read more would go with him again anytime.
The food that the chef prepared with the team was delicious and satisfied all special requests.
I had one of my best experiences during the 4-days Inca-trail hike with the TreXperience. The trail and scenery is spectacular. But it could be really difficult without our experienced tour guide… read more and team (great chef and porters). Here are good and bad things about TreXperience:
Good:
– Great great team, specifically the guid (Robinson) and the chef(Julio Secar) (see below)
– Great organization of the whole trip: Everything was reasonably scheduled (wake up, food, sleep times).
– Reasonable plans: All the stuff was planned in a way that all of our group enjoyed.
– Helpful orientation before the trip and pick-up and drop-off plus storing our loguages during our trip.
Bad/Suggestions: Really cannot think of anything!
About our guide and chef:
Our tour guide(Robbinson) was one of the main factors that made our experience great. He was very patient. While he let faster members go ahead and enjoy their speed, he always followed the last person (the slowest) and made sure that they were OK and enjoying their trip. He had a really good sense of humor and he was very knowledgeable not only about the historical sites and Incas’ history, but also about the nature there. He showed us a lot of very cool stuff about how Inca’s would use nature to survive.
Also the chef was incredibly good. He made a lot of different foods (mostly Peruvian) with really good quality (every time I wished I could eat more).
And finally, none of these would be possible without our super nice local porters.
