The views were immaculate as was the food! Rob and Sol were the best guides ever really funny and knowledgeable about the history of the place.
Best guide we could’ve asked for. Super knowledgeable and always concerned for our well being. Wouldn’t go with anyone else

I had one of my best experiences during the 4-days Inca-trail hike with the TreXperience. The trail and scenery is spectacular. But it could be really difficult without our experienced tour guide… read more and team (great chef and porters). Here are good and bad things about TreXperience:
Good:
– Great great team, specifically the guid (Robinson) and the chef(Julio Secar) (see below)
– Great organization of the whole trip: Everything was reasonably scheduled (wake up, food, sleep times).
– Reasonable plans: All the stuff was planned in a way that all of our group enjoyed.
– Helpful orientation before the trip and pick-up and drop-off plus storing our loguages during our trip.
Bad/Suggestions: Really cannot think of anything!
About our guide and chef:
Our tour guide(Robbinson) was one of the main factors that made our experience great. He was very patient. While he let faster members go ahead and enjoy their speed, he always followed the last person (the slowest) and made sure that they were OK and enjoying their trip. He had a really good sense of humor and he was very knowledgeable not only about the historical sites and Incas’ history, but also about the nature there. He showed us a lot of very cool stuff about how Inca’s would use nature to survive.
Also the chef was incredibly good. He made a lot of different foods (mostly Peruvian) with really good quality (every time I wished I could eat more).
And finally, none of these would be possible without our super nice local porters.

We took the luxury inca trail trek with Trexperience mid April 2022. We always try to search for a local operator based on fellow travellers reviews. It was rather easy… read more in the case of Trexperience as they seem to benefit from numerous positive reviews on the web and they were one of the few companies able also to offer a more pampering version of the treck with better food, tents, beds, shower/wc.
The owner Carlos was responsive, informative, reliable and professional from start to finish and the team that helped us through the trek was great. I especially wish to mention Miguel, the guide, who was knolwgeable, helpful, supportive, responsible and more than anything, a great guy to have next to you on such a jurney.
The trek was amazing and the views are unforgetable.
I can wholeheartedly reccomend Trexxperience and take this opportunity to thank them again.

The route was incredible, every day breath-taking. The opportunity to understand the Quechua and Inkan culture and history was invaluable. Of course Macchu Pichu was incredible but the highlight, by far, was the days before.
Would recommend to anyone! Thank you to TreXperience.
First of all, I’ll start with the good things and then, some that personally it needs to be improved.
POSITIVE: first of all, the company is avobe others just… read more for the simple fact that they pay fairly to people, don’t over exploit them like others do (for example Alpaca expedition, we’ve seen double the KG a porter should be carrying), they also have nice details like the train back to Cusco is 360 panoramic (not all companies do that, just a few).
When it comed to porters, they are great, fast and efficient hars workers that are 100% paying attention to you since day 1. Special mention to the cookers, they are like god master chefs who cook amazing things in the middle of nowhere, most of the food was even better than the restaurants, incredible, geniuses.
Finally, thank you for the guides to take care of us and lead us all the way to Machupicchu, especial mention to @Juvenal, an amazing guide who’s organization was perfectly executed since the breefing day 0. He knows a lot about psychology of groups and how to handle them in tough situations, prepare them psychology for what’s to come and manage sudden events like that could affect or even end someone’s treck. We were amaze also by his knowledge of the culture and the trecking history. I’ve done lots of trecks like this around the world and I could say he’s one of the best, if not tge best guide ever had. Wish him the best in the future. I would repeat any future experience with him without doubt.
NEGATIVE: they promise premium customer service, and during the treck, we sort of had it, they claim to be avobe other companies when it comes to paychecks and caring people, and they are, but they also claim to be resourceful if any things turns wrong before the treck and to adapt an itinerary to you… and that, they didn’t deliver. Altitude sicknes hit me pretty hard first week in Peru and for one week we were asking yo have a plan B and gives us a final plan and pricing in case we had to cancel, they never did, and it was pretty chaotic, as the breefing sesion with our main guide Robinson. On that they didn’t deliver and I hope in the future they improve on that area, it was pretty disappointing to see they claim yo differentiate from the competence on that, to adjust and be more "personal" and flexibile in case something happens before the trip but unfortunately they didn’t.
THIS IS A DIRECT COMPLAIN TO THE COMPANY AND NOT THE AMAZING TEAM THEY HIRE TO EXECUTE THE TRECK. SO THE EXPERIENCE YOU’LL GET DURING AND FROM THE TEAM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS NEGATIVE PART FROM THE COMPANY.
I will still give them the 5 star hoping they improve that in the future!

The TreXperience team for my group consisted of tour guide Nilo Uscamayta, chef Celso, sous-chef Juan, and horseman Victor. I highly recommend this team – every single member worked so hard at making us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible on this journey. Nilo was very patient, empathetic and knowledgeable – some of us struggled during parts of the trek with injury or illness, and Nilo was very patient even though we moved slowly. He always encouraged us to move at a comfortable pace. He always asked how we were feeling and if there’s anything he could do to help. Nilo was very knowledgeable and was consistently giving us interesting information on the landscape, culture and history of the region. He also knew the best spots in Machu Picchu to capture beautiful photos and was always enthusiastic to take photos for us.
Every meal prepared by chef Celso and sous-chef Juan was impressive. They are truly talented to be able to prepare delicious meals with just a few tools and without a working kitchen. They even found out that it was my friend’s birthday and whipped up a personalized cake for her! The Pachamanca meal was very interesting and really demonstrated the passion that the chef and sous-chef have for cooking. Our horseman, Victor, was very attentive and always made sure that our belongings were readily available and that the campsite was setup before we arrived.
If you are considering doing a guided trek to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend this tour with TreXperience. Some parts of the trek may be difficult, but it is manageable and very scenic. You will have a very memorable time, especially if you are lucky enough to have the team that we had. Don’t think about it anymore and just book it :) !

It was challenging but SO rewarding!!! I am so glad I chose to see Machu Picchu this way instead of the train and bus. Seeing it through the sun gate was fantastic! I did train before this hike and would recommend doing that because it is much harder to hike at altitude! Overall I had the absolute time of my life!!! Although the Inca Trail is challenging, Charly was patient with each climber who climbed at different speed.
In addition, he introduced us to the Peruvian culture such as explaining us about the drinks that the porters were drinking.
We also had the best cook, Carmelo. He was amazing with his skills and creative with his dishes. I was always impressed by the meals.
Then, there were the impressively strong porters who were so friendly and welcoming.
It is so amazing to hear the great things that this tour company does for the porters like insurance and being the one of the first companies to employ women.

The porters were beyond helpful, they were pleasant and encouraging with their smiles and high spirit as they worked hard to set up the tents and attend to all our needs, a group of 9 women.
The food is another level of camp food. We were well fed. We wouldn’t have gotten that quality of food in a standard restaurant: from The variety to quantity of food and the presentation. I could go on and on. In short, you can’t go wrong with food with Chef Julius Cesar and her assistants. Every day and night was a different dish. We even asked for the recipe to attempt to make it at home.
I will miss everything about this experience. Thank you Jose, Rosa, and Lordes. Truly you made a beautiful experience unforgettable.

The three-course meals and varied breakfasts served every day by the traveling chef were always well received. Our tour guides Edy and Juan were very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic and I really enjoyed their company throughout.
Overall a great experience. Just note that you will be sharing the trail with your group, other groups, and the 20+ porters for each group. it can feel a bit crowded at times.
Also, if you are from a country without a tipping culture – and especially if you’re on a tight budget – be aware that there is a strong expectation of significant tips at the end for the guides, chef and porters that accompany you along the way. TreXperience is a world class tour operator that puts a high priority on safety and customer service. We highly recommend them! Our family of four (with 18 and… read more 13 year old) booked the 4D/3N Classic Inca Trail.
I was recovering from a prior cold/illness before the trek began so was already at a deficit. When you add in the unpredictability of altitude sickness, anything can happen. Needless to say, I struggled significantly to make it to campsite 1. I was extremely fatigued, nauseous, coughing, and my breathing was extremely labored.
Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep well that evening, could hear wheezing and my cough seem to get much worse. Knowing that Day 2 was the most difficult, to ascend an additional 4,000 feet at a very steep incline to reach a maximum altitude of 13,795 feet, I knew my physical limitations and didn’t want to put the entire group at risk. Therefore, I decided to descend.
I expected one of the porters to accompany me down, but it was not allowed. Instead, one of our tour guides, Sarita, escorted me down the mountain and went above and beyond to assist me and my 13 year old son (who voluntarily descended to look after his mother).
My daughter (18 year old) and husband continued onward and had an amazing experience. The trek was challenging albeit quite rewarding. Taking the trail gives you incomparable views from the sun gate that you cannot get trying to do Machu Picchu on your own.
We highly recommend TreXperience and ask for Sarita and Eddie!!
Sarita was AMAZING! Her English speaking skills were exceptional. She was kind, patient, and encouraging, telling me to go at my own pace and to stay hydrated. She was always willing to help, answer any questions, and provided great background knowledge about the Peruvian culture.
After a successful descent, Sarita went even further above and beyond. She assisted us in making hotel arrangements in Ollantaytambo and Agua Calientes, booked our train and bus tickets, escorted us to the train and hotel, offered to show us the Ollantaytambo archeological site or textile markets in our downtime, and successfully reunited us with my husband and daughter as they hiked into Machu Picchu on Day 4. Sarita was able to persuade the park ranger to allow us entry to the top terrace (Sun Gate ) to capture the postcard family photo of Machu Picchu.
All of the logistics of coordinating transport, lodging, and reuniting us with the group was not expected but greatly appreciated. We were very grateful to have Sarita by our side to help us with this process. Thank you TreXperience for being an outstanding tour operator with excellent guides.

And it wasn’t just good food for being out in the mountains, it was GOOD food for anywhere! I can’t believe what they were able to make, including full on cakes! And we got to experience a meal cooked in a traditional oven in the ground.
The hot springs were a delightful start to the trip, although they would have been welcome after the 3 days trekking too! :) And the breakfast served was incredible!
The hike was beautiful! We were never rushed. It was fine that there were faster and slower walkers. Our guide Edy always made sure everyone was OK.
The nights were cold in June, so pack a warm coat and make sure you have something warm to sleep in, although we were given a sleeping bag liner and hot water bottle, which was a wonderful and welcome touch.
Edy was so much fun to spend 4 days with, and he was not only friendly and caring, but super knowledgeable. You could tell he cared deeply about the local people and the mountains. He told us all about the local communities, as well as the mountains, the fauna and the culture.
Machu Picchu was the highlight! Again, Edy was great! He was an expert at storytelling and relaying the history of Machu Picchu. He gave us all the time we needed for photos and for storytelling, and he was excellent at taking the best photos in the best spots.
It was an amazing experience I wish cherish forever! And TreXperience, Edy, and the group made me feel very safe and welcome as a solo traveller. I would definitely recommend TreXperience and do tours with them again!
