We arrived at around 12:20pm but we were a little hungry, so we asked him if it’s possible we could eat. He agreed and told us to enjoy 1 hour for lunch then the tour would start afterwards. The tour didn’t finish until 5pm-ish so just calculate the time he spent with us. He took his time with us and there were only two of us in our private tour. So he really went into the details. He also took amazing pictures of us!! I would definitely ask him to be my tour guide again when I come back to Peru! And yes, he got a well deserved tip! ;)

Although the Inca Trail is challenging, Charly was patient with each climber who climbed at different speed.
In addition, he introduced us to the Peruvian culture such as explaining us about the drinks that the porters were drinking.
We also had the best cook, Carmelo. He was amazing with his skills and creative with his dishes. I was always impressed by the meals.
Then, there were the impressively strong porters who were so friendly and welcoming.
It is so amazing to hear the great things that this tour company does for the porters like insurance and being the one of the first companies to employ women.
I honestly believed that we picked the best tour company. Go with a local company like this one!

Even at camp, chef not only prepared a wonderful variety of more than we could eat, but the presentation was unbelievable. We even had fresh flowers on the tables! Our morning started with hot cocoa tea delivered to our tents, then a breakfast for champions. After hiking all morning, a terrific lunch was served, At the end of a full day of trekking, we enjoyed “tea time” popcorn, crackers and jam, hot chocolate, and of course tea. Then came our 4-5 dish dinner! Every day was different, deliciously prepared, very creatively presented.

I was picked up from the… read more hotel, and guided to the bus station. This was fast and efficient. Once we reached Machu Picchu Augustine showed me the best spots to avoid the crowds. Augustin is very knowledgeable, he knows a lot about the place, history, customs and he chooses the best spots. He is also a wonderful photographer. I was very lucky to have Augustin with me. if you go to Machu Picchu , private guided tour is the best thing to do. I saw some people choosing wrong routes (they are different for the am and pm tour). You need to know where to go, where to take the best pictures but also understand the history and heritage. We trekked with Charly – who took full care of us and when it was clear that we would not be able to carry on, he and TreXperience were supreme in their support of us arranging to have us accompanied from the trek back to where we could be collected by motorbike and then taken to km.82, where a driver picked us up and took us to a hotel which the company had arranged for us. The company (and Charly when he could connect to data) were in constant contact with us advising us on how to make the journey by transport to Aguascalientes and onward to Machu Picchu where we met up with the group again. Imagine a Restaurant style dining up in the mountains with such detail including uniformed chef and servers!! The guides Robinson and Soledad were very educated on Inca history and the land. Soledad is very compassionate and caring. i fell sick on day 2 and another member had a chronic sickness which was slowing her down. the 2 guides talked among themselves and one of the guides slowed down and walked with us through the trek, while the other handled the others! This way they ensured each and everyone was taken care of with their individual needs! Soledad was the assistant guide but based on how she handled the situation and stepped up to the task, she is ready to lead her own group as the senior guide!
