I booked my trip with Trexperience and absolutely loved it! Our guide Charlie and Sarah were excellent! They were super friendly, supportive when it got tough and were constantly providing… read more information about the different historical sites you see, plants, and animals.
The porters and chefs are incredible and support the trip in crazy ways by bringing your duffle and campsite equipment to multiple checkpoints. The food was amazing and blew me away, especially since you’re in the jungle and mountains. They are able to produce such an amazing meal every time, even baking a cake for us on the last day! You’ll never go hungry trust me.
Overall I really recommend TreXperience for anyone looking to travel to Machu Picchu, the staff from top to bottom were fantastic and make the experience stress free!
Thank you Charlie and Sarah for being such amazing guides!!
This was one of the most amazing excursions of my life! I’m a pretty experienced traveler and been on many tours, and this was something else. It was extremely well… read more organized, the porters were super heroes, and our chef Julio Cesar was a master in the kitchen! Our meals were so thoughtful and delicious. It’s amazing what he can put together in the middle of nowhere with such an amazing staff to help him. Everyone with the company was very thoughtful and helpful with anything we needed.
Our guide, Carlos Ccolcca, was the absolute best! He was so knowledgeable and personable. He really took care of us during the entire trip.
What wasn’t expected was that in our group of 7, which would be a great for intimacy and bonding, there would be a couple from the Netherlands who were VERY sick and demanded much of our guide’s time. They were unbelievably rude and selfish as to their needs when they should have ultimately decided NOT to take part in a physically demanding multiple day hike. We also had three teenagers who were not accompanied by their parent. The kids also hiked as fast as possible from point A to point B, leaving the rest of the group behind. Our guide had to stay behind with the sick people for safety reasons. The parent of said teenagers apparently decided that our guide was supposed to be their babysitter, and made it known that she felt her children should have been watched over 24-7, which in this situation with the Dutch couple, was not possible. Carlos did the absolute best he could in the situation and to make our time memorable.
Anyone who takes part in a tour knows how important the synchronicity of a group is to the overall experience, and unfortunately selfish sick people and unaccompanied children aren’t a great contribution to that. Tour gets 5 stars, but our group gets 2 stars!

The tents were well laid out and neat, the food prepared by Raymond and his team was unbelievable! Imagine a Restaurant style dining up in the mountains with such detail including uniformed chef and servers!! The guides Robinson and Soledad were very educated on Inca history and the land. Soledad is very compassionate and caring. i fell sick on day 2 and another member had a chronic sickness which was slowing her down. the 2 guides talked among themselves and one of the guides slowed down and walked with us through the trek, while the other handled the others! This way they ensured each and everyone was taken care of with their individual needs! Soledad was the assistant guide but based on how she handled the situation and stepped up to the task, she is ready to lead her own group as the senior guide!
Overall I strongly recommend the Classic Inca trail and treXperience!!
We took the luxury inca trail trek with Trexperience mid April 2022. We always try to search for a local operator based on fellow travellers reviews. It was rather easy… read more in the case of Trexperience as they seem to benefit from numerous positive reviews on the web and they were one of the few companies able also to offer a more pampering version of the treck with better food, tents, beds, shower/wc.
The owner Carlos was responsive, informative, reliable and professional from start to finish and the team that helped us through the trek was great. I especially wish to mention Miguel, the guide, who was knolwgeable, helpful, supportive, responsible and more than anything, a great guy to have next to you on such a jurney.
The trek was amazing and the views are unforgetable.

Unfortunately, it was too challenging for us (in our 60s) so if you’re over 55 our advice is not to attempt it unless you are superfit. However, If you are… read more planning to do the 4 day challenge, TreXPerience is most highly recommended. We trekked with Charly – who took full care of us and when it was clear that we would not be able to carry on, he and TreXperience were supreme in their support of us arranging to have us accompanied from the trek back to where we could be collected by motorbike and then taken to km.82, where a driver picked us up and took us to a hotel which the company had arranged for us. The company (and Charly when he could connect to data) were in constant contact with us advising us on how to make the journey by transport to Aguascalientes and onward to Machu Picchu where we met up with the group again. Everyone (Charley, Tom, Coronel, porters and drivers), where outstanding in their care of us and, they will be our first of call for any other tours when we come back to Cusco. Charly is also impressive as an historian and passionate about his culture.
A magical experience with Sara, my guide, from

Sara,… read more my guide, was super informative and knowledgeable about Macchu Picchu. She answered all my questions and is passionate about the site and the area, as she is a local Andean. Will def return to do more tours with Trexperience!
The four day trek is a unique way to learn about and appreciate the local culture and nature. We had taken the train to Macchu Picchu a few years earlier… read more but the hiking trip really puts this unique wonder in perspective. Carlos and Joao were awesome guides; knowledgeable, experienced, patient. Given the restrictions by the ministry of culture— e.g. the locations of campsites and the facilities, the tour company has done an awesome job. The food by the chef Julio Cesar, was amazing: a high end introduction to the Peruvian cuisine. A team of porters had to transport everything on foot up to the three camp sites and cook the food on site. Everything was provided by the team- tours of Inca sites along the way and of course the tour of Machu Picchu at the end.
Amazing experience, sumac! Lovely team firstly from Edy and Yoner (our guides with unlimited hype and unlimited information across the four days), Orlando + his sous chef (and their amazing… read more food, even baking a dairy free birthday cake at altitude ), Jezus (attending to our every need) and Porfirio with all the amazing porters (how they do it I don’t know!).
The route was incredible, every day breath-taking. The opportunity to understand the Quechua and Inkan culture and history was invaluable. Of course Macchu Pichu was incredible but the highlight, by far, was the days before.
Would recommend to anyone! Thank you to TreXperience.

My girlfriend and I had an absolutely amazing… read more time on the 4 days Classic Inca trail, kudos to our guides JJ and Juan who made sure that everything is absolutely top notch and that we are getting all the knowledge about history and culture. It’s also worth mentioning Raymundo our who prepared meals better than in some local restaurants, trust me you’ll never go hungry with these guys.
It was very hard and very beautiful. Bring thermal underwear for the cold nights and a headlight! The food was amazing (very very good, and loads of it) and everything… read more was taken care of: I only carried my personal day pack, the porters carried everything else. The guides (Robinson and Soledad) were very professional and friendly. I felt very safe. I have diabetes (type 1), which made the trip extra difficult, but Soledad stayed at my side and took great care of me.

We saw a lot of different views of nature, from the icy mountains, to desert, to jungle. And to top it off at the end, Carlos was our guide at Machu Picchu as well. If I could give more than 5 stars I totally would!

A huge thank you to our porters for carrying everything and having everything set up flawlessly upon our arrival to camp each night. With so many dynamics with a group hike our guides did an excellent job of handling many tough situations (altitude sickness, slower trekkers, etc) and ensured that everybody arrived safely to camp each night. Thank you for making this experience the best!
This trek was MAGICAL. I went in with no expectations except to see beautiful nature and have time to hike the mountains. And what I witnessed was magical… read more in terms of the terrain. Salkantay trek by TreXpirience is so well planned and thought out. The Pacha Manga which is a traditional earth roast of vegetables and meats was one of the most delicious dishes I’ve ever had, and I’m from NYC and live in Mexico so I’m picky about my cuisine. Jorge was the head chef on my tour and he made us 5 star meals with limited resources in the middle of the Andes—it was a talent to behold. Demetrio and Julian were Jorge’s helpers and they were incredible. The entire team did everything with so much care and love and I’m grateful to have met them. Vicente my tour guide will forever be a brother, he was kind and knowledgeable and really showed us the time of our lives. I feel lucky to have crossed paths with him. If you can help it please ask for Vicente as a tour guide along with Jorge, Demetrio, y Julian. I’m a world traveler for hobby and work, and Vicente was the best tour guide I’ve ever encountered like inthe world. I can not recommend this tour and/or these guys enough.
You must request Jhony (pronounced Johnny) for the tour! We did a full tour with him in Sacred Valley and half day tour in Cousco. A joy to work with.… read more He spoke clear English and was fully knowledgeable. I appreciate humor and he had the best personality! You can’t go wrong with him as your guide!
I was looking for an alternative trekking experience and came across Huchuy Qosqo +Inca Trail 4D offered by Trexperience.
I’m a solo traveler so I booked just for… read more myself and it also turned out I was the only person (still low no. of tourists in post-pandemic and everyone goes for Inca or Salkantay trek) to book this trekking on specific dates.
Trexperience therefore basically organised a private trekking for me. For the first two days it was just me, my guide Maribel, chef Samuel and sous-chef Cipriano trekking to Huchuy Qosqo. And they took such a great care of me. Maribel is a fantastic and passionate guide with great English. She was my mom, my sister, my friend, my guide, my everything for two days. She’s also super knowledgeable about all the fauna and flora in the Andes and also she knows a lot about the Inca history. I could have not wished fot a better guide than Maribel!
Samuel and Cipriano were a great company too. And they were preparing delicious food. It was a true gourmet experience! Meals were big and they prepared variety of delicious food.
Maribel, Samuel and Cipriano were like family to me and I’m so grateful for the time we spent together. The last day they also taught me how to make a traditional Peruvian bbq! :)
Oh and I highly recommend Huchuy Qosqo trekking, beautiful landscapes and views. A lot of llamas and alpacas but no tourists or crowds like on Inca/Salkantay trek.
The next two days I joined a small group of five for the Short Inca trail. Also a great experience and I recommend asking for Jose Luis (Pepe). He is fun and experienced Machu Picchu guide!
Overall I highly recommend Trexperience!
We spent the last 3 days trekking the Inca trail and finished at Machu Picchu today with TreXperience and had the best time. Our guide Robbie and the entire crew… read more of porters and cooks took great care of us and made sure we all started and finished together. We were woken up with hot coca tea delivered to our tents every morning and well fed with some of the most amazing hot meals and multi course lunches and dinners. Robbie made sure we got up early to beat the crowds so we could have the Inca sites to ourselves to enjoy in a relaxing manner and get great photos. This company goes above and beyond and the main reason id recommend them is how well they treat their employees. They all work so hard and they voiced to be happy working for this company. It always feels nice supporting a business that takes care of their own.
We had an extremely good experience with our group of 8 people on the 4D Inca trail. Our guides Robinzon and Walter were social, experienced and capable to help us… read more and push forward (even during hard times, because we suffered from stomach issues).
Guide Robinzon emphasized to enjoy, look around and dont Worry about the time of arrival. He really won our trust. Sometimes we needed a bit more detail at the final day at Machu Picchu.
Guide Walter restarted to hike as a guide with our English group, and we think het also had good talent +is a nice, modest guy.
Don’t hesitate to book with Trexperience; a smaller organization run by local people.
We had the most amazing time with the best tour guide, Charly. Charly is a man of multiple trades – he is so knowledgable about the history and culture of… read more the Inca Trail. We also found out that he is also a great photographer and a published author.
Although the Inca Trail is challenging, Charly was patient with each climber who climbed at different speed.
In addition, he introduced us to the Peruvian culture such as explaining us about the drinks that the porters were drinking.
We also had the best cook, Carmelo. He was amazing with his skills and creative with his dishes. I was always impressed by the meals.
Then, there were the impressively strong porters who were so friendly and welcoming.
It is so amazing to hear the great things that this tour company does for the porters like insurance and being the one of the first companies to employ women.
I honestly believed that we picked the best tour company. Go with a local company like this one!
This was an unforgettable experience start to finish. Our guides Robinson and Manollo together with the Pisac porters group took a great care of us and the whole organisation. The… read more guides were both native Andean and gave us authentic information about their culture and heritage which we really enjoyed. They not just explained by also often showed us live how they use different plants for water, food, medicine or building materials. Robinson made all the effort for us to really enjoy our vacation, especially being flexible with the schedule to allow us to see more of the amazing sites along the way. He even negotiated with a ranger in one of the Inka sites to allow us to stay longer and watch an amazing sunset. He came down with a stomach bug on a third day but despite that he kept going and we wouldn’t have even noticed it if he hadn’t missed the breakfast. Manollo especially impressed on us all of their Andean/Inka culture and religion that is still preserved to this day in his village; he made sure we were well entertained even through the difficult parts of the hike and even went so far to play the Andean flute for us on the final descent on the second day after two very big climbs. The echoes of his playing from the surrounding peaks created a magical atmosphere that is hard to describe. The chef and his assistants were the unexpected highlight of the trip. Throughout we ate amazing and authentic food on par with the best Peruvian restaurants and it came with the amazing food decorations to make the experience feast for eyes as well. Our porters did an amazing job as well. This was our first hike like this and we had no idea how much work porters put into it and how important it is. They carried so much more stuff than we expected and were running around the mountains to set up our lunch and night camps ahead of us to make sure they were ready whenever we arrived. They woke us up every morning with a hot coca tea and hot water of hot water to wash our faces and teeth and also welcomed us to night camps with hot water to wash and relax our feet after a long day of hiking. Most of the things they did for us we didn’t even knew we needed and in few cases we needed something they literally ran across the camp so that we don’t need to wait more than few seconds. It was an outstanding level of service, way above the level we’d expect coming from Europe. Overall it was a five star experience.
We really enjoyed this tour! The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu were breathtaking and our guide, Jose Luis, did an amazing job. He taught us so many things and made… read more sure we were always having a good time. The two day trek was a perfect combination of hiking and relaxing; on day one we hiked all day (and the boxed lunch was great) and on day two we got a very thorough and enjoyable tour of Machu Picchu from Jose Luis. JJ was our guide for the LUXURY classic Inca trail 4 day trek experience. Walter was our chef and Filio was our assistant guide. I cannot explain… read more to you enough how much this trip impacted my life. It was so memorable! We couldn’t have done it with this level of Luxury without TreXperience and their amazing team. We arrived on the 4th day at Machu Picchu thinking it would be a cloudy rainy day but the clouds broke and it was incredible. The team encouraged us and thanks to JJ and Filio we remained positive! Thank you Pachamama!!!!
Our guide William and the assistant guide johnner were both brilliant and made the trip fun and engaging for all 10 of us doing the trail. Their energy was infectious… read more and they were extremely accommodating of the different needs of all members of the group.
Given that we were eating on the mountains, they standard of the food was incredible – it was very varied and better than most of the food you would buy in the restaurants in the city. The portion sizes were large and there was always more than enough for all members and then some.
I’m not sure if I would’ve had the same experience if I used another provider so I was very happy with my choice to go with trexperience on this occasion.
Overall, a great trip. The hike is beautiful, food is amazing, and the guides are great. They do so much to make your trip as focused as possible on the… read more hikes and views. The tents are pitched for you, the cooks are fantastic, they provide equipment, and the guides have lots of knowledge. You learn a lot as well. The hike itself is quite hard, even if you are decently active. That is cause of the altitude. Day two is very challenging but the third day is amazing.
Our guides were Pepe and Filio. They have done a wonderful job! They not only motivated us to hike on but also explained a lot about the culture and nature.… read more It was very interesting. Moreover they managed that we were the 1st team to arrive at Macchu Picchu!
Sinci our chef cooked over the 4 days a variety of dishes. All of them were delicious and we even got a cake as dessert for our last dinner.
Best guide we could’ve asked for. Super knowledgeable and always concerned for our well being. Wouldn’t go with anyone else
Would highly recommend Trexperience for the 4 day Classic Inca trail and we all had a great time and was well organised.
Our guide Robinzon was great and friendly… read more and allowed all people on our group to trek at their own pace on all four days which was great.
The food provided on all four days was the best food I have had while at cusco and is something you definitely will look forward to on all four days.
If you’re thinking of treking the Inca trail, you wouldn’t be left disappointed if you go with trexperience like all 8 of us in our group
We had a very positive experience with TreXperience. The company did an excellent job at keeping us well-informed about what to bring and expect for the trip as well as… read more updating us with changes to the region’s rules and regulations in light of COVID (mask requirements, COVID testing/vaccination protocol). There was a mandatory briefing the night before the trip to allow us to meet our tour guide, review the itinerary and give us an opportunity to ask any questions which I thought was very helpful.
The TreXperience team for my group consisted of tour guide Nilo Uscamayta, chef Celso, sous-chef Juan, and horseman Victor. I highly recommend this team – every single member worked so hard at making us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible on this journey. Nilo was very patient, empathetic and knowledgeable – some of us struggled during parts of the trek with injury or illness, and Nilo was very patient even though we moved slowly. He always encouraged us to move at a comfortable pace. He always asked how we were feeling and if there’s anything he could do to help. Nilo was very knowledgeable and was consistently giving us interesting information on the landscape, culture and history of the region. He also knew the best spots in Machu Picchu to capture beautiful photos and was always enthusiastic to take photos for us.
Every meal prepared by chef Celso and sous-chef Juan was impressive. They are truly talented to be able to prepare delicious meals with just a few tools and without a working kitchen. They even found out that it was my friend’s birthday and whipped up a personalized cake for her! The Pachamanca meal was very interesting and really demonstrated the passion that the chef and sous-chef have for cooking. Our horseman, Victor, was very attentive and always made sure that our belongings were readily available and that the campsite was setup before we arrived.
If you are considering doing a guided trek to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend this tour with TreXperience. Some parts of the trek may be difficult, but it is manageable and very scenic. You will have a very memorable time, especially if you are lucky enough to have the team that we had. Don’t think about it anymore and just book it :) !
