Amazing trail with amazing views! Our private guide Jose Luis made those 2 days such a fun and great experience. The best guide we ever had!

Charlie has an incredible knowledge… read more of both history and the nature, which he shared with the whole group on the way. Furthermore we had amazing food along the way! We even got three courses at every meal. All in all an amazing experience!

We just finished the 4D3N Inca Trek and TreXperience took the best care of us. Robbie and his team made sure the whole family finished the trek. They encouraged us… read more along the way and kept a pace that wouldn’t overexert us. He knew all the cool spots to take breaks and he made sure we started early to beat the crowds. The cooks spoiled us with the most amazing food and the porters setup our tents so they’d be ready to slumber in once we got to our sites. I recommend this company to anyone wanting to go on their next Incan adventure!

The route was incredible, every day breath-taking. The opportunity to understand the Quechua and Inkan culture and history was invaluable. Of course Macchu Pichu was incredible but the highlight, by far, was the days before.
Would recommend to anyone! Thank you to TreXperience.

We had two guides Robinzon and Walter who both were fantastic in keeping our spirits up even when morale was low due to the high altitude. They looked after us “fragile hikers” very well. Robinzon was our main guide who spoke English quite well and was able to share interesting stuff with us about Quechua people and the local flora and fauna. He had a great sense of humour and even made coffee for us on the Dead And Woman’s pass!!! What a life saver.
This was Walter’s first trip with an English speaking group and he dealt with us with the outmost care. He was so humble and lovely we really liked him.
About the porters:
For 8 people we had 16! Porters carrying everything for us! Primo was our head porter who made it to camp first everyday and claimed the best spots for our tents. These guys are the real super heroes running up the mountains with 20kg on their backs like it’s nothing. They greeted us with smiles and cheers every time we made it to camp. Whereas in actual reality they are the ones who deserve the cheering. We got hot water every night so we could wash off the dust of the road which I thought was a nice touch.
About dining:
We had 1 chef, 1 assistant chef and 1 waiter with us for the whole trip. This was a great opportunity to try local foods and get to know the different type of potatoes, fruits and corn of the region.
Every day 3 x we were treated like Inkas (kings) and were served at least 3 different types of dish.
Most evening meals were washed off by a Muna tea and we had nice fresh coffee at breakfast.
About the Inka trail:
We are hobby hikers and Munro baggers in Scotland ( so in good shape) but I would say that the trek was tough going. Although, It was worth all the pain for seeing a small part of the Andes and how people in there live. And of course the mighty Machu Picchu . We dreamt about being there so many times and experiencing it and after the 4 day trek it was even more special to us. We even climbed Wayna Picchu. The only thing is that due to the second climb we were not able to get a full tour (2.5 hrs maximum) and didn’t hear about the history of Machu Picchu as much as we would have liked to. But we can read all the books about it later while browsing through our pictures.
JJ and Yoner never stopped working to make sure that our Trex Experience surpassed our expectations!!

I was looking for an alternative trekking experience and came across Huchuy Qosqo +Inca Trail 4D offered by Trexperience.
I’m a solo traveler so I booked just for… read more myself and it also turned out I was the only person (still low no. of tourists in post-pandemic and everyone goes for Inca or Salkantay trek) to book this trekking on specific dates.
Trexperience therefore basically organised a private trekking for me. For the first two days it was just me, my guide Maribel, chef Samuel and sous-chef Cipriano trekking to Huchuy Qosqo. And they took such a great care of me. Maribel is a fantastic and passionate guide with great English. She was my mom, my sister, my friend, my guide, my everything for two days. She’s also super knowledgeable about all the fauna and flora in the Andes and also she knows a lot about the Inca history. I could have not wished fot a better guide than Maribel!
Samuel and Cipriano were a great company too. And they were preparing delicious food. It was a true gourmet experience! Meals were big and they prepared variety of delicious food.
Maribel, Samuel and Cipriano were like family to me and I’m so grateful for the time we spent together. The last day they also taught me how to make a traditional Peruvian bbq! :)
Oh and I highly recommend Huchuy Qosqo trekking, beautiful landscapes and views. A lot of llamas and alpacas but no tourists or crowds like on Inca/Salkantay trek.
The next two days I joined a small group of five for the Short Inca trail. Also a great experience and I recommend asking for Jose Luis (Pepe). He is fun and experienced Machu Picchu guide!
Overall I highly recommend Trexperience!

Truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life! My husband and I booked the private 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu through Trexperience because of the great reviews,… read more and they exceeded every expectation. We were lucky enough to have Vincent as our guide – he was the best! He was a wonderful storyteller, a patient and encouraging guide, and very flexible with personalizing the experience for us. He had an answer for every question we had, and would occasionally ask us questions that we wouldn’t know the answer to – resulting in some of the most ridiculous jokes I’ve ever heard. Vincent also had a true respect and reverence for his history and traditional Inca customs, it was a beautiful experience to learn from him. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to lead us to Machu Picchu!
Before starting the trail, we decided to stay overnight in Ollantaytambo to have a later wake up time (7AM pickup instead of 4AM, highly recommend). We decided to go with the private tour instead of a group because we wanted to go at our own pace, and honestly it wasn’t that much more expensive than the group tour – especially worth it when we considered the level of effort to get out there in the first place. We started the day on the Panoramic train to KM 104. Try to get seats on the side by the river. It’s beautiful from every angle, but that was definitely the place to get the best views. After getting off the train, we crossed the bridge and were greeted by an Andean Motmot! Such a lucky bird sighting! We were also fortunate to do the hike at the end of April, there were thousands of different orchids blooming on the trail.
Right away, you encounter the Inca Site of Chachabamba, directly across the river. It’s a great start to the trail before the ascent. The first half of the hike up to Wiñay Wayna was entirely uphill, it’s challenging but definitely doable. For reference, my husband and I are in our early-30s and moderately fit – we exercise regularly, but nothing can really prepare you for the altitude. Definitely stay in Cusco a couple days, drink lots of coca tea, and do what you need to do to adjust. After about 2.5 hours, we entered into a shaded area with a beautiful waterfall that we took a nice rest at. About 20 minutes from there, we reached Wiñay Wayna! This site alone is seriously worth the effort, it’s unbelievable from every direction. From there, the trail becomes a lot easier. Not as much continuous incline, Vincent referred to this part as "Inca flat" (basically quick ups and downs for the remainder of the hike). After one last push up a couple of daunting staircases, we reached the Sun Gate! It’s a surreal and spiritual experience, I can’t really put into words how special it was to see Machu Picchu in the distance. A little bit more walking from Intipunku, and we arrived at the bus station to be transported to Aguas Claientes.
The next morning, we woke up early and hopped on the same bus to be taken back to Machu Picchu. We had reserved tickets to climb Huayna Picchu, which we were feeling a bit nervous about, but I am so glad we did it. Honestly, the view at the top was worth every single stair to get up there. There were so many beautiful orchids, butterflies, and birds that provided great incentive (an excuse) to take rests on the way up. A true highlight of the experience! We still had plenty of time in Machu Picchu itself to see all of the temples and walk through the ruins. When our time was up, we said goodbye and hopped on the panoramic train in Aguas Calientes to return to Cusco in time for dinner and an early night of sleep.
This experience provided me with two of the best days of my life, and I could not recommend it more highly. A huge part of our experience was sharing it with Vincent, and I would absolutely recommend traveling with him if you can. We’re already planning on coming back to do the 4-day trail with him in the future! Until then, my husband and I will cherish the memories made on this unforgettable trip.

He… read more told us stories of the Incas, of the stars and of the different Quechua communities and kept us entertained when the going (altitude) got tough. Melchor served up excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and somehow managed to bake a pie and a cake after a long day of trekking. Pedro and Juan were excellent su chefs and porters, waking us up with hot coca tea in the mornings and ensuring we had warm water to wash our hands and faces with after a long day of hiking, and even bringing us hot water bottles to keep us warm on the first and second night.
Communication from Trexperience in the run up to the trek was fantastic. The whole trek was organised really well, from collection from our hostel on the first day to drop off on the last day (including collecting our luggage from the office and then the onward travel from the office back to our hostel). Everything ran smoothly without the slightest glitch. Would highly recommend!

The tents were well laid out and neat, the food prepared by Raymond and his team was unbelievable! Imagine a Restaurant style dining up in the mountains with such detail including uniformed chef and servers!! The guides Robinson and Soledad were very educated on Inca history and the land. Robinson is very funny and keeps us on track and guides us. Soledad is very compassionate and caring. i fell sick on day 2 and another member had a chronic sickness which was slowing her down. the 2 guides talked among themselves and one of the guides slowed down and walked with us through the trek, while the other handled the others! This way they ensured each and everyone was taken care of with their individual needs! Soledad was the assistant guide but based on how she handled the situation and stepped up to the task, she is ready to lead her own group as the senior guide!
Overall I strongly recommend the Classic Inca trail and treXperience!!
We did both a half day Cusco city tour and a full day Sacred Valley tour with Jhony and it was absolutely awesome! Jhony did a fantastic job taking us… read more to all the best spots and explaining all of the history and culture. He is the last Great Inka King! I can’t say enough good things about him or our experience. Highly recommended!
We had a very positive experience with TreXperience. The company did an excellent job at keeping us well-informed about what to bring and expect for the trip as well as… read more updating us with changes to the region’s rules and regulations in light of COVID (mask requirements, COVID testing/vaccination protocol). There was a mandatory briefing the night before the trip to allow us to meet our tour guide, review the itinerary and give us an opportunity to ask any questions which I thought was very helpful.
The TreXperience team for my group consisted of tour guide Nilo Uscamayta, chef Celso, sous-chef Juan, and horseman Victor. I highly recommend this team – every single member worked so hard at making us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible on this journey. Nilo was very patient, empathetic and knowledgeable – some of us struggled during parts of the trek with injury or illness, and Nilo was very patient even though we moved slowly. He always encouraged us to move at a comfortable pace. He always asked how we were feeling and if there’s anything he could do to help. Nilo was very knowledgeable and was consistently giving us interesting information on the landscape, culture and history of the region. He also knew the best spots in Machu Picchu to capture beautiful photos and was always enthusiastic to take photos for us.
Every meal prepared by chef Celso and sous-chef Juan was impressive. They are truly talented to be able to prepare delicious meals with just a few tools and without a working kitchen. They even found out that it was my friend’s birthday and whipped up a personalized cake for her! The Pachamanca meal was very interesting and really demonstrated the passion that the chef and sous-chef have for cooking. Our horseman, Victor, was very attentive and always made sure that our belongings were readily available and that the campsite was setup before we arrived.
If you are considering doing a guided trek to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend this tour with TreXperience. Some parts of the trek may be difficult, but it is manageable and very scenic. You will have a very memorable time, especially if you are lucky enough to have the team that we had. Don’t think about it anymore and just book it :) !

We had a bit of trouble with our luggage and TreXperience bent over backward to make sure we still had a great experience.
I rented a sleeping bag, and they provided a liner and a mat. They also provided a poncho which came in pretty handy.
Overall, a great trek.
Would highly recommend Trexperience for the 4 day Classic Inca trail and we all had a great time and was well organised.
Our guide Robinzon was great and friendly… read more and allowed all people on our group to trek at their own pace on all four days which was great.
The food provided on all four days was the best food I have had while at cusco and is something you definitely will look forward to on all four days.
If you’re thinking of treking the Inca trail, you wouldn’t be left disappointed if you go with trexperience like all 8 of us in our group
