Our experience was just extraordinary! The big role here played our tour guide Carlos, who was funny, caring, very experienced, friendly, had a bunch of amazing stories for us and possessed a great knowledge of the Ketchua (Inca) people. I have learned soo much from him.
Oh and the food is divine!! We ate like kings thanks to chef Julio Cesar!
I am really Grateful for this experience and would recommend it to anyone!!!!
My favorite part of this amazing experience was the incredible scenery, and of course the reward at the end of seeing Machu Picchu! Our guides, Carlos Ccolcca and Joao Sanchez,… read more did a great job of providing the information and help we needed to be successful during this very challenging trek. I couldn’t have done this without their help and support. The porters and the chef, Julio Cesar, were fantastic, having everything set up for us when we arrived at camp —and the food was great! Even at camp, chef not only prepared a wonderful variety of more than we could eat, but the presentation was unbelievable. We even had fresh flowers on the tables! Our morning started with hot cocoa tea delivered to our tents, then a breakfast for champions. After hiking all morning, a terrific lunch was served, At the end of a full day of trekking, we enjoyed “tea time” popcorn, crackers and jam, hot chocolate, and of course tea. Then came our 4-5 dish dinner! Every day was different, deliciously prepared, very creatively presented.
Fantastic 4 days, our guides were knowledgable about the fauna and flora. The food was fantastic and catered for all our individual needs.
First night hot water bottles In… read more our tents, made all the difference to a chilly night. Awoken with coffee in our tent followed by a great breakfast set us up for the day.
Arriving at Machu Picchu they were knowledgeable and happy as ever to answer questions and take us through this truly breath taking place.
A special thanks goes to our lead guides Adolfo and Judy, always happy and there to help, sharing their knowledge and experience along the route.
Thanks again

Would highly recommend Trexperience for the 4 day Classic Inca trail and we all had a great time and was well organised.

The food provided on all four days was the best food I have had while at cusco and is something you definitely will look forward to on all four days.

My wife and I did a private 4 day tour where we had a private guide, 5 porters and a cook. My wife was 6 months pregnant, but was able to hike the whole thing with no issue. It can be a bit challenging, but as long as you acclimate like 3-4 days before in Cusco or the sacred valley you will be fine.
We booked 4 months out and they maintained god communication. They were flexible on meeting up 2 days before the trip to give us the overview and the duffels we would pack. Of note you can put more weight in your duffles as the trip progresses, because as you eat food the overall load of the porters lightens.
The first day is easy. The staff pitches camp for you in full each day. And they set up a private dining tent. The second day is challenging since you do about ~4200 ft of elevation change. There are a lot of steep stone steps after you come down from dead woman’s pass. Poles help a lot, but your knees will be sore after. The third day is some good ascent, but not as bad as the day before, but be prepared for a long day with lots of steps down, it is insanely steep, the last day is easy and Machu Picchu is great.
Lunch in Agua Caliente is good, but you have to wait a few hours for the train, it only runs once in the afternoon. We got an hour massage to kill time and sally enjoyed it.
As a recommendation I would say the more time you have to acclimate the better, the altitude can take down strong men. Also read about the area in advance and learn about Inca history, it makes it much more enjoyable. Bring extra to tip the guides and staff. You will have an immense amount of respect for what they do by the end of trip.
You will not regret booking this hike.

Our chefs and porters worked so hard and made the trek so much easier for us. Thank you to our chefs Celso and Abel for the incredible food each and everyday! Every meal was fantastic!! It’s amazing what they can cook in the mountains.

I was really thankful that he stopped… read more multiple times during our hike so I could take breaks and he made sure no one was left behind (we had a mix of faster hikers and slower hikers in our group). Charlie was also a really good photographer and will take many many beautiful pictures of you! Our trail tickets only let us into Machu Picchu once (no bathrooms inside Machu Picchu), however, my boyfriends stomach was not feeling well and we needed to use the restroom mid tour, Charlie was able to talk to the ticketing counter to get us an exception so we could re-enter Machu Picchu again. We absolutely loved the packed lunch on our hike, however we did not enjoy the dinner chosen by the tour company. The restaurant they chose was low quality with limited options. We ended up going to eat somewhere else after the group dinner was over.

He also taught us how to take the BEST Iphone pics (as a value-add) and was more than happy to share story and a laugh.
What a delightful, stress-free tour. There is no way we would have been able to see what we did in the time with as little stress were it not for Jose and this tour. Well worth it and will be recommending to others.

I can’t tell any favourit part of the tour, cause it was all great :)

The 2 porters Abel and Deonicio were attentive, the hard work they put in to make sure everything has arrived to camp, they prepare everything for your arrival they work so hard.
Even our horse man Ali was the best.
The tour itself is great beautiful surroundings and scenery, the trek to salkantay was difficult but worth it.
We had a couple of changes to our plans but for the better, we ended up going to the hot springs and zip lining and it was THE best experience, the zip lining is insane, i am so glad Vincente added this into our tour.
Unfortunately the views from Machu Picchu was foggy but the knowledge Vincente had about Inca history was second to none.
Everything was well thought of to the smallest details.
The guides were knowledgeable and from the local community of the Inca region.
I like that they have two… read more women guides to accommodate an all women group mentored by a very passionate charismatic male guide who empowered them to take the lead throughout the trail.
The porters were beyond helpful, they were pleasant and encouraging with their smiles and high spirit as they worked hard to set up the tents and attend to all our needs, a group of 9 women.
The food is another level of camp food. We were well fed. We wouldn’t have gotten that quality of food in a standard restaurant: from The variety to quantity of food and the presentation. I could go on and on. In short, you can’t go wrong with food with Chef Julius Cesar and her assistants. Every day and night was a different dish. We even asked for the recipe to attempt to make it at home.

Our tour guide Mickey (Miguel) was fantastic and cheerful, often cracking jokes and sharing facts about the local flora. He was very patient and encouraging as I struggled physically with some parts of the trek, and never rushed me. He was also very passionate and knowledgeable about the Salkantay trail and Machu Pichu itself.
The views you see along the way are breathtaking, and the food is unbelievable. Our chefs Ronaldo, René and Oscar created the most delicious, wholesome and creative meals even at the most remote locations. They even made an impromptu birthday cake for my friend/ fellow trekker!
The horse boys Simon and Nelson, along with the rest of the staff, did a fantastic job at taking care of our belongings and preparing the campsites. The tents were roomy and comfortable, and we were provided with hot water bottles every night. An absolute highlight of the whole experience was definitely the beautiful clear night skies!
Overall, I couldn’t recommend the Salkantay trek and Trexperience enough – it was so incredible and well-organised, and the group felt like family.

The camping equipment was all of a very good standard, and the added touch of a hot water bottle on night one which was the coldest (-5C degrees) was hugely appreciated by all. In addition, the logistics of our trip w ere incredibly well organised thanks to Amilcar, Elmer, Wilburgh and Cecilio, meaning that nothing was amiss and we did everything in good time.
We were very unlucky with our weather on Day 5, and unfortunately the clouds never parted for us to get a full view of Machu Picchu, which Adolfo told us had never happened in his 15 years of experience (cries inside). Nonetheless, he was very cheerful and told us all the history very enthusiastically to still make it a memorable experience.
If we trek in Cusco again, I think Trexperience would certainly be our choice and our group would all highly recommend to others.

I don’t know how they managed to cook such an wholesome dishes in conditions that one finds on a hike, but it was incredible, from traditional Peruvian soups, ceviche to cakes (yes, that’s right). Porters were supporting and the service they provide is unbelievable, we didn’t worry about anything (and there is a lot of things to worry about/they provide: food, camps, water, tents and other facilities), because we knew that we can rely on them.
Only time when we felt a bit uncomfortable was during the "tipping ceremony".
All in all we got to see sooo many lovely views, animals, plants and history, while hiking safely and supporting the local people.
Inca trail is hard but so worth it. Thank you Trexperience for a chance to be a part of this.
I was looking for an alternative trekking experience and came across Huchuy Qosqo +Inca Trail 4D offered by Trexperience.
I’m a solo traveler so I booked just for… read more myself and it also turned out I was the only person (still low no. of tourists in post-pandemic and everyone goes for Inca or Salkantay trek) to book this trekking on specific dates.
Trexperience therefore basically organised a private trekking for me. For the first two days it was just me, my guide Maribel, chef Samuel and sous-chef Cipriano trekking to Huchuy Qosqo. And they took such a great care of me. Maribel is a fantastic and passionate guide with great English. She was my mom, my sister, my friend, my guide, my everything for two days. She’s also super knowledgeable about all the fauna and flora in the Andes and also she knows a lot about the Inca history. I could have not wished fot a better guide than Maribel!
Samuel and Cipriano were a great company too. And they were preparing delicious food. It was a true gourmet experience! Meals were big and they prepared variety of delicious food.
Maribel, Samuel and Cipriano were like family to me and I’m so grateful for the time we spent together. The last day they also taught me how to make a traditional Peruvian bbq! :)
Oh and I highly recommend Huchuy Qosqo trekking, beautiful landscapes and views. A lot of llamas and alpacas but no tourists or crowds like on Inca/Salkantay trek.
The next two days I joined a small group of five for the Short Inca trail. Also a great experience and I recommend asking for Jose Luis (Pepe). He is fun and experienced Machu Picchu guide!

We received warm water every morning to wash ourselves and had a cup of coca tea. As a single traveler I had the chance to sleep in a single Teint (this you have to ask for explicitly). The guides were also awesome. Very funny and provided good information about the trip. Robinzon was our main guide. He is funny and empathetic and helped those who needed more help. Walter the second guide did. also a great job and took care of one of our group who had knee issues and needed much more time to walk.
I have to say, that it was the best trip I made in Peru and it is absolut worth the price. For those who are ich differing doing the Inka Trail, please be aware that you have to be fit. It is no walk in the park and especially Day 2 is physically hard. Even though the guises take care of you and provide you medicine if you have problems with the altitude etc. it is hard. If you feel fit enough definitely do it because it is the best experience you could get. In a nutshell I highly recommend this company.

We also had the best cook, Carmelo. He was amazing with his skills and creative with his dishes. I was always impressed by the meals.
Then, there were the impressively strong porters who were so friendly and welcoming.
It is so amazing to hear the great things that this tour company does for the porters like insurance and being the one of the first companies to employ women.
I honestly believed that we picked the best tour company. Go with a local company like this one!
