My friend and I had a great experience!! From the amazing food, the staff, the wonderful guide, I mean we couldn’t have asked for a better first hiking experience. I… read more highly recommend this hike with Mari, she was a great guide and helpful throughout the trip!! If I could give than 5 stars I would!
Great food, great people and the best organisation of all the trips we had in Peru! Definetely worth every Penny, I would do it again! :)
We hiked past beautiful… read more scenery and though it was also exhausting and cold (bring enough warm clothing), we loved it with all the great food and conversations. Our guide was great and so was the whole team (cooks and horsemen). We were woken up with hot coffee or tea, had two matresses and a hot waterbottle to keep warm during the nights.
I can’t tell any favourit part of the tour, cause it was all great :)
Thanks a lot to Trexperience!
Really nice (tr)experience, great family. Had a blast with my girlfriend and a diverse group of travellers. The guides did a great job, the porter worked really hard and the… read more chef made a celebration of every meal. Would recommend 5/5!
Everything was well thought of to the smallest details.
The guides were knowledgeable and from the local community of the Inca region.
I like that they have two… read more women guides to accommodate an all women group mentored by a very passionate charismatic male guide who empowered them to take the lead throughout the trail.
The porters were beyond helpful, they were pleasant and encouraging with their smiles and high spirit as they worked hard to set up the tents and attend to all our needs, a group of 9 women.
The food is another level of camp food. We were well fed. We wouldn’t have gotten that quality of food in a standard restaurant: from The variety to quantity of food and the presentation. I could go on and on. In short, you can’t go wrong with food with Chef Julius Cesar and her assistants. Every day and night was a different dish. We even asked for the recipe to attempt to make it at home.
I will miss everything about this experience. Thank you Jose, Rosa, and Lordes. Truly you made a beautiful experience unforgettable.
This company "suggests" that everyone should tip 80-100 sols to each porters and 10-15% of the tour fee to guide as a tip after booking. it’s not right to… read more inform that after booking. Even though each tour company said that tips are not included. but I have asked people who booked other travel agencies and there is no "suggestion" on how much to tip.
The tour fee is 700 US dollars per person. Even if each person gives minimum 10% as the tips(70USD), our group was 16 people, then that is 1,120 US dollars for the tour guides for 4 days working. I think that’s too much. I’m totally fine with the tips for porters, because they really did hard work. but giving 70 USD for our tour guides? Nope
We had an excellent experience with trexperience on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. We had Charlie and Sara as guides and they were amazing. Charlie has an incredible knowledge… read more of both history and the nature, which he shared with the whole group on the way. Furthermore we had amazing food along the way! We even got three courses at every meal. All in all an amazing experience!
It was an amazing experience. Our guides William and Vincent were absolutely wonderful, provided us with great support and lots of useful information.Big thanks to William for always staying back… read more with us. We highly recommend this activity to everyone
Our experience was amazing! Our guides, JJ (Juan Jose) & Judy, were experienced and knowledgeable and kept us well informed the entire trip. The food was absolutely delicious and… read more so impressive, we ate like Kings every meal. A huge thank you to our porters for carrying everything and having everything set up flawlessly upon our arrival to camp each night. With so many dynamics with a group hike our guides did an excellent job of handling many tough situations (altitude sickness, slower trekkers, etc) and ensured that everybody arrived safely to camp each night. Thank you for making this experience the best!
Favorite part? Everything. I wouldn’t change a single thing about this trip. Charlie, Sarita, and our chef, sous chef, and porters were just such an attentive and caring team. And… read more this is in addition to being on an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. And did I mention the food? Holy smokes! Better than any food I had in Lima or Cusco (or in most places, really). I could not recommend this trip more—start to finish (even with some pretty intense, high altitude hiking) WORTH EVERY PENNY.
Beautiful trek. Challenging but so very worth it. The landscape is incredible and so varied. Everyone on the TreXperience team was amazing. Chef Rolando cooked us some really delicious meals,… read more and our guide Carlos was awesome and full of knowledge. Definitely recommend.

Excellent!!! This 2-day short Inca Trail was definitely worth it. Tour guides Franklin and Sara were super welcoming, extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area and its fascinating history.… read more They always put our needs first and were very organised when it came to transport and arrangements. Would certainly recommend this tour and Franklin and Sara because we had an excellent couple of days.
We had the most amazing time on this trek with the best group of 8 people from around the world. You truly become best friends and a family in 4… read more days!
We had two guides Robinzon and Walter who both were fantastic in keeping our spirits up even when morale was low due to the high altitude. They looked after us “fragile hikers” very well. Robinzon was our main guide who spoke English quite well and was able to share interesting stuff with us about Quechua people and the local flora and fauna. He had a great sense of humour and even made coffee for us on the Dead And Woman’s pass!!! What a life saver.
This was Walter’s first trip with an English speaking group and he dealt with us with the outmost care. He was so humble and lovely we really liked him.
About the porters:
For 8 people we had 16! Porters carrying everything for us! Primo was our head porter who made it to camp first everyday and claimed the best spots for our tents. These guys are the real super heroes running up the mountains with 20kg on their backs like it’s nothing. They greeted us with smiles and cheers every time we made it to camp. Whereas in actual reality they are the ones who deserve the cheering. We got hot water every night so we could wash off the dust of the road which I thought was a nice touch.
About dining:
We had 1 chef, 1 assistant chef and 1 waiter with us for the whole trip. This was a great opportunity to try local foods and get to know the different type of potatoes, fruits and corn of the region.
Every day 3 x we were treated like Inkas (kings) and were served at least 3 different types of dish.
Most evening meals were washed off by a Muna tea and we had nice fresh coffee at breakfast.
About the Inka trail:
We are hobby hikers and Munro baggers in Scotland ( so in good shape) but I would say that the trek was tough going. Although, It was worth all the pain for seeing a small part of the Andes and how people in there live. And of course the mighty Machu Picchu . We dreamt about being there so many times and experiencing it and after the 4 day trek it was even more special to us. We even climbed Wayna Picchu. The only thing is that due to the second climb we were not able to get a full tour (2.5 hrs maximum) and didn’t hear about the history of Machu Picchu as much as we would have liked to. But we can read all the books about it later while browsing through our pictures.
This experience was great! Franklin and Sarah were very accommodating and spoke very good English! Their knowledge of incan history was great and informative! It was a great trip! This was an incredible experience. Edy and Yoner were fun and welcoming and made the trip a blast. They were great at providing information about each site and the culture… read more of the locals. I could not have imagined better your guides. Rolando’s food was literally to die for. I could not believe he was able to make some of the dishes in the middle of such a long trek. Jesus, our waiter, made every dinner feel like home and was lovely and attentive. Profirio and his team of porters went above and beyond expectations I didn’t even know I had. They work so hard and made everything perfect. All of the sites were beautiful and Machu Picchu is unmatched. It cannot be described in words how amazing this experience was. I HIGHLY recommend Trexperience and this group of individuals. Simply the best!
The trip was amazing! Anything- from the organization and transportation, through the DELICIOUS food to the guidance through the sites was impeccable. Way exceeding expectations! The four day trek is a unique way to learn about and appreciate the local culture and nature. We had taken the train to Macchu Picchu a few years earlier… read more but the hiking trip really puts this unique wonder in perspective. Carlos and Joao were awesome guides; knowledgeable, experienced, patient. Given the restrictions by the ministry of culture— e.g. the locations of campsites and the facilities, the tour company has done an awesome job. The food by the chef Julio Cesar, was amazing: a high end introduction to the Peruvian cuisine. A team of porters had to transport everything on foot up to the three camp sites and cook the food on site. Everything was provided by the team- tours of Inca sites along the way and of course the tour of Machu Picchu at the end.
I’ll admit this was a gruelling trek, but the feeling of walking into Machu Picchu and all the history and culture along the way was so much better than taking… read more the train and bus in for a day trip. Half our group almost didnt complete the trip, two had sore knees from downhill steps, one had a sore back and altitude sickness, and a teenager burnt himself out on the first day throwing up and diarrhea. But our guides, Eddie and Rosa were excellent. They really cared about the group and lived the Quechuan culture of Family. Eddie was extremely passionate about the history and culture and Rosa was always smiling and laughing. porters from Pisac were also amazing. They ran around furiously after tirelessly hiking up and down dead womans pass to set up tents and mattresses for those that were struggling so they could get some rest. One of the group that was sick fell into some bushes and got small burrs all over his sweater. One porter spent half an hour picking the burrs out while he got some rest. Way above and beyond. Thank you Juvenal for all that you and your porters did for us. As most people say, the food was also excellent. Chef Raymundo made some amazing dishes and his fruit art was incredible. There was honestly way too much food. More than our group could possibly eat. If you want a truly unique experience and that once in lifetime experience of walking into Machu Picchu after a well earned trek, then do this trek. You definitely cant go wrong with TreXperience.
Salkantay Pass, Coffee stop in Lucbamba, Humantay Lake, and of course Machu Picchu were amazing.

Our guide, Filio,… read more was incredible, knew things about every plant, taught us some Quechuan and always made sure we were doing ok.

Trexperience therefore basically organised a private trekking for me. For the first two days it was just me, my guide Maribel, chef Samuel and sous-chef Cipriano trekking to Huchuy Qosqo. And they took such a great care of me. Maribel is a fantastic and passionate guide with great English. She was my mom, my sister, my friend, my guide, my everything for two days. She’s also super knowledgeable about all the fauna and flora in the Andes and also she knows a lot about the Inca history. I could have not wished fot a better guide than Maribel!
Samuel and Cipriano were a great company too. And they were preparing delicious food. It was a true gourmet experience! Meals were big and they prepared variety of delicious food.
Maribel, Samuel and Cipriano were like family to me and I’m so grateful for the time we spent together. The last day they also taught me how to make a traditional Peruvian bbq! :)
Oh and I highly recommend Huchuy Qosqo trekking, beautiful landscapes and views. A lot of llamas and alpacas but no tourists or crowds like on Inca/Salkantay trek.
The next two days I joined a small group of five for the Short Inca trail. Also a great experience and I recommend asking for Jose Luis (Pepe). He is fun and experienced Machu Picchu guide!
Overall I highly recommend Trexperience!

Robinzon and Manolo were the best guides one could ask for; they were both incredibly versed in the trail/sites, the Inka history and culture. They took the time, and gave us the time, to explore every site on the way to Machu Picchu. And on top of that, they provided us with a wealth of personal and cultural information from their own Quechua (Inka) backgrounds, which made this a truly authentic experience.
I also have to say that our porters, Grupo Pisaq, made this trip run as smoothly and as professionally as anyone hiking 4 days in extreme altitudes could ask for. The huge, added bonus were the 3 daily meals which were local flavor and on par with any top-notch Peruvian restaurant that you’d find out in "civilization". Thank you for everything!
