Our tour guide Juvenal was the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever had and provided such a rich description of every attraction, hike, or town we were visiting. I must even mention that after our time concluded together, the NEXT day he took me in his own car to do a trail run I had been longing to do, he is so dedicated sweet and kind.
Supporting Juvenal was Elvis, a fantastic driver, who was ALWAYS on time and ready to go at a moments notice. He made the transportation from place to place seamless and relaxing.
Futher, our cook Oscar was incredible. The LAVISH and CREATIVE food that he would prepare for us was to die for and rivaled even the trendiest of restaurants my family and I dined at in Lima and Cusco. There was truly nothing better to eat on a hungry stomach after a big hike.
Thank you again TreXperience, Juvenal, Elvis, and Oscar for making the trip so worthwhile.

I have hiked quit a lot, but this experience is different and unique with porters and chiefs services. I highly recommend it to anyone who don’t mind outdoor living… read more for a few days. More specifically, here are what I like and some thoughts
1. The porters are working very hard for very little, and they are very attentive, eager to please if we need anything. I would suggest to bring a lot more changes to tip them.
2. Our guides, Carlos and Joao are very personable and fun, knowable and experienced. I have enjoyed the interaction with them greatly. I wish I asked them a lot more questions, cultural and personal.
3. The chief ( Julio) and meals are excellent, I am amazed how did he manage to produce the meals with beautiful presentation under such primitive conditions? Again, the porters bring in everything include cooking stove, pots and pans, propane etc Tip is: be prepared to eat three square meal a day!:-)
1. Company could ask us to indicate the t-shirt size ahead of time online to make it easier for the guides.
2. I would like to stick to the same sleeping bag and pillow, so a system to put our name there would be helpful.
3. For travelers, I wish I read more about the history so I can learn even more from the trip.
It was a wonderful experience, the trail/place and the people have touched me deeply, and I’d do it again!
We were briefed before our inca trail hike. It was very useful, as they explained what the 2 days were going to look like. The hike was not difficult at… read more all. Great experience provided by outstanding guides Robinzon and Maribel. They were informative, knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant company to lead us through the Andes. TreXperience planned for many details, the food,… read more sleeping accommodations and schedule all worked great. Big thanks to the porters too for making it all possible!
We ran into a bit of a problem with seating assignments on our way back to Cusco, but all-in-all a small issue that they noted would do better going forward.

We had a bit of trouble with our luggage and TreXperience bent over backward to make sure we still had a great experience.
I rented a sleeping bag, and they provided a liner and a mat. They also provided a poncho which came in pretty handy.
Overall, a great trek.
Wonderful company that is lucky to have such amazing employees. Robinson was our guide and he always was making sure everyone was okay and was having a great time. He… read more even made coffee in a small cave area while we attempted to wait out the rain. Our cook, Rolando and his assistant, Rosario, provided us feasts of delicious food for every meal. It was beyond impressive. And our waiter, Jesus, was always there making sure everything was okay and with a smile on his face!! And the porters – I could go on and on about how amazed I was by them all. The trip couldn’t have been possible without all their hard work.
The scenery was beautiful and we constantly encountered Inca ruins along our hike. I feel so lucky with the group of eight we had. All wonderful people with kind hearts and big laughs. Despite the blazing sun, hail, and rain, we had a fantastic time. There are a lot of tour companies out there but make sure you pick one that treats their employees right. For that reason alone, I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

The whole experience from start to finish was really well organised and the group of 7 of us, plus our guide Edy, created a great bond.
The briefing on… read more the first night gave us all the info we needed and, as a solo female traveller, I was put at ease.
The team of chef, assistants, porters and horsemen looked after us so well! The food was insane! We never went hungry and actually I felt bad there was always food left over. And it wasn’t just good food for being out in the mountains, it was GOOD food for anywhere! I can’t believe what they were able to make, including full on cakes! And we got to experience a meal cooked in a traditional oven in the ground.
The hot springs were a delightful start to the trip, although they would have been welcome after the 3 days trekking too! :) And the breakfast served was incredible!
The hike was beautiful! We were never rushed. It was fine that there were faster and slower walkers. Our guide Edy always made sure everyone was OK.
The nights were cold in June, so pack a warm coat and make sure you have something warm to sleep in, although we were given a sleeping bag liner and hot water bottle, which was a wonderful and welcome touch.
Edy was so much fun to spend 4 days with, and he was not only friendly and caring, but super knowledgeable. You could tell he cared deeply about the local people and the mountains. He told us all about the local communities, as well as the mountains, the fauna and the culture.
Machu Picchu was the highlight! Again, Edy was great! He was an expert at storytelling and relaying the history of Machu Picchu. He gave us all the time we needed for photos and for storytelling, and he was excellent at taking the best photos in the best spots.
It was an amazing experience I wish cherish forever! And TreXperience, Edy, and the group made me feel very safe and welcome as a solo traveller. I would definitely recommend TreXperience and do tours with them again!

The porters and chefs are incredible and support the trip in crazy ways by bringing your duffle and campsite equipment to multiple checkpoints. The food was amazing and blew me away, especially since you’re in the jungle and mountains. They are able to produce such an amazing meal every time, even baking a cake for us on the last day! You’ll never go hungry trust me.
Overall I really recommend TreXperience for anyone looking to travel to Machu Picchu, the staff from top to bottom were fantastic and make the experience stress free!

Had an amazing 4day Salkantay Trek with Trexperience. Next to the obvious pretty environment and sightings the organisation was phenonmenal. Guide William showed us al the wonders and history of… read more the region, and Oscar + crew prepared the best – restaurant worthy – food from the campsites. Every detail was taken care of, from great equipment to warm water bottles for the cold nights.
First of all, I’ll start with the good things and then, some that personally it needs to be improved.
POSITIVE: first of all, the company is avobe others just… read more for the simple fact that they pay fairly to people, don’t over exploit them like others do (for example Alpaca expedition, we’ve seen double the KG a porter should be carrying), they also have nice details like the train back to Cusco is 360 panoramic (not all companies do that, just a few).
When it comed to porters, they are great, fast and efficient hars workers that are 100% paying attention to you since day 1. Special mention to the cookers, they are like god master chefs who cook amazing things in the middle of nowhere, most of the food was even better than the restaurants, incredible, geniuses.
Finally, thank you for the guides to take care of us and lead us all the way to Machupicchu, especial mention to @Juvenal, an amazing guide who’s organization was perfectly executed since the breefing day 0. He knows a lot about psychology of groups and how to handle them in tough situations, prepare them psychology for what’s to come and manage sudden events like that could affect or even end someone’s treck. We were amaze also by his knowledge of the culture and the trecking history. I’ve done lots of trecks like this around the world and I could say he’s one of the best, if not tge best guide ever had. Wish him the best in the future. I would repeat any future experience with him without doubt.
NEGATIVE: they promise premium customer service, and during the treck, we sort of had it, they claim to be avobe other companies when it comes to paychecks and caring people, and they are, but they also claim to be resourceful if any things turns wrong before the treck and to adapt an itinerary to you… and that, they didn’t deliver. Altitude sicknes hit me pretty hard first week in Peru and for one week we were asking yo have a plan B and gives us a final plan and pricing in case we had to cancel, they never did, and it was pretty chaotic, as the breefing sesion with our main guide Robinson. On that they didn’t deliver and I hope in the future they improve on that area, it was pretty disappointing to see they claim yo differentiate from the competence on that, to adjust and be more "personal" and flexibile in case something happens before the trip but unfortunately they didn’t.
THIS IS A DIRECT COMPLAIN TO THE COMPANY AND NOT THE AMAZING TEAM THEY HIRE TO EXECUTE THE TRECK. SO THE EXPERIENCE YOU’LL GET DURING AND FROM THE TEAM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS NEGATIVE PART FROM THE COMPANY.
I will still give them the 5 star hoping they improve that in the future!
We just finished the 2 day Inca trek with Barnaby as our guide and Simon as our chef. Everything was amazing, the tour and our trek family! The trail is… read more beautiful but lots of work so the porters and chef have a tough job but super friendly. Chef Simon made more than enough food at every meal and everything was delicious, and far EXCEEDED our expectations, especially for a traveling mountain kitchen! Barnaby was a great guide helping me to feel safer on steeper parts of the trek and was perfectly fine with us taking as many breaks as we needed throughout the day. When he guided us through the Inca constructions he was incredibly informative and it’s quite clear he truly loves the history, nature and deeply respects the land and constructions thoroughly. The views were indescribable at every step as is the history you learn along they way! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Vincente Julio Deonicio Abel, the tour guide for this 5 day trek to Machu Picchu was full energy and so passionate in everything he did. I, and I can tell… read more that the group as well were so fortunate and appreciative to be around him as he encouraged us and explained all the little things that we would’ve never known while hiking and being around him. He went above and beyond to make sure that each one of us were having the times of our lives.
The chefs and porters were so humble and the food they made out of the resources available was amazing.
This trekking experience would absolutely no way be the same without Vince, the chefs and everyone involved.
We had an incredible experience on this 4 day hike with TreXperience. Our guides Edy and Sara made our whole trip comfortable, safe and enjoyable. They were so passionate about… read more their heritage and culture and helped us to understand the history behind each of the Inca sites. The hike was difficult but manageable if you have a decent level of fitness, and the guides allowed us to take our own pace along the way. The food was delicious and we received numerous snacks and beverages along the way. Would 10/10 recommend this company!
It was an unbelievable experience doing the Classic Inca trail. Everything was very well organised, from the trail itself to the food and accommodation. They picked us from the hotel… read more in Ollantaytambo at 6.15am, went for an early breakfast and then we started our journey to km 82 where the Inca trail starts. Pepe and Sara were well prepared and explained how the journey was gonna be.
The food they provided for us was unbelievable given the circumstances. The group of porters from Pisaq were very well prepared and provided us with everything we would need for the trip (not to mention all the things they carried for us on the trail).
Balbino’s food was just incredible. Everyday he managed to surprise us with his cooking skills and creativity.
The trail itself is just something you have to experience in order to understand. They were not easy trails but we enjoyed every single minute of it. Each and one of us did it in our own time and between Pepe and Sara we never felt alone on the trail. The weather definitely helped as well. No rain except a few hours during our last night camping.
All I can say is :Thank you Pepe, Sara and the Pisaq porters for making our experience an unbelievable one.
