Policy Regarding Reservations and Cancellations

  • In the event of a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice, a fee equal to 90 percent of the entire amount will be assessed.

Day 1: Cusco - Km 82 - Llactapata - Ayapata - " The Training Day"

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley at 4:30 in the morning and driven to Kilometer 82 to begin one of the most breathtaking treks in the world. The first day of the trek consists of a relatively easy 6-hour hike to the campsite, which will help you adjust to the higher altitude. During your travels, you will get the opportunity to explore a variety of natural flora and animals, such as the torrent duck, as well as marvel at breathtaking vistas of historic Inca ruins like as Llactapata, snow-capped mountains, and winding stream rivers. The first place to camp is in Ayapata, which is located at 3300 meters/10829 feet. Hiking distance: 14 kilometers / 8.7 miles Highest altitude: 3300 meters Considered: Moderate Meals: B, L, D

Day 2: Ayapata -  Dead Women's Pass - Chaquicocha

After a hearty breakfast, hikers begin the arduous four-hour ascent to the highest point on the Inca Trail, Dead Woman's Pass (4200m / 13779ft), also known as Warmiwuska pass. Following lunch, hikers continue their ascent and reach the summit of Runkurakay pass, the second mountain pass along the route (3956 m - 12979 ft). During the course of the day, take in breathtaking panoramas of the Vilcanota and Vilcabamba mountain ranges, travel to the Inca ruins of Runcuraccay and Sayacmarca, and see an extensive range of rare plant and animal species. Chaquicocha is the second location for camping (3600 meters / 11800 feet). Locations that are ideal for stargazing. Hiking distance: 16 kilometers / 9.9 miles The highest elevation reached was 4200 meters / 13779 feet. Considered to be: Demanding in Nature Meals: B, L, D

Day 3: Chaquicocha - Intipata - Wiñaywayna

Prepare yourself for the most breathtaking day possible and a leisurely half-day of trekking along the Classic Inca Trail as you wake up in your tent with a cup of freshly prepared coffee in hand. A leisurely stroll through the cloud forest leads to the mysterious Inca remains of Phuyupatamarca, which are located at an altitude of 3,650 meters (11,972 feet). It is possible to get a sight of Machu Picchu and the Huayna Picchu Mountains from this vantage point. Phuyupatamarca, Intipata, and Winaywayna are three important Inca sites that you should see. The last one is the Campsite, which is situated 2680 meters or 8792 feet above sea level and is just two hours away from Machu Picchu. Hiking distance: 10 kilometers / 6 miles The highest point is 3,650 meters (or 11,972 feet) in elevation. Considered: Meals of Moderation: B, L, and D

Day 4: Discover Machu Picchu

The most significant day of the Classic Inca Trail, get up early, say your goodbyes to the porters, and begin the one-hour climb to the Sungate to catch your first glimpse of the magnificent lost Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. In Machu Picchu, if the weather is clear, you will be able to see the most incredible dawn of your life. As soon as you arrive at Machu Picchu, your tour guide will take you on a tour of the most amazing locations in Machu Picchu. You will explore the stone palaces and temples, and your guide will also provide an explanation of the history of the final Incas. Hike up the Huayna Picchu mountain, which is completely optional. Later on in the afternoon, you will take the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo, where you will then transfer to a bus that will take you back to Cusco. Expect to check in at around 7:30 p.m. at your hotel. Time spent hiking: two hours Considered: Easy Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
