While walking he also checked on us many times to see how we were doing. My girlfriend was a bit afraid about the difficulty of the trek (because of her bad knees), but with Edwin by our side, this worry was quickly gone. Also the chef, sous-chef and the horseman were incredible. They did everything to make it comfortable for us and to bring very good food to the table. Thank you for this experience. This was a challenging experience but a rewarding one. The chef, Celso was the best. Every meal was perfect. He even made me a birthday cake for my 40th bday, which was so thoughtful. The sous chef, Juan was great too and was always around to help. The horseman, Victor, worked hard preparing the campsite for us every day.
Everyone on this team worked extremely hard to make sure we were all happy. I’m very glad we booked this trip and had the team that we did!

This company "suggests" that everyone should tip 80-100 sols to each porters and 10-15% of the tour fee to guide as a tip after booking. it’s not right to… read more inform that after booking. Even though each tour company said that tips are not included. but I have asked people who booked other travel agencies and there is no "suggestion" on how much to tip.
The tour fee is 700 US dollars per person. Even if each person gives minimum 10% as the tips(70USD), our group was 16 people, then that is 1,120 US dollars for the tour guides for 4 days working. I think that’s too much. I’m totally fine with the tips for porters, because they really did hard work. but giving 70 USD for our tour guides? Nope

The food/catering is absolutely delicious and it’s incredibly impressive what our team Amilca, Cecilio and Elmer put together on the side of a mountain. Thank you all!! The meals really were a highlight. The team look after the majority of your equipment – ours was quickly transported from campsite to campsite by the team of horses and our capable horseman, Wilbur.
Group sizes are kept small (smaller than many other operators) so we all got to hike at a pace we were happy with. Our group was 5pax and quickly became "familia" on the trip!
Lastly a special mention to our guide, Adolfo who was brilliant throughout. He kept motivation high and provided lots of information throughout, drawing on his 15 years of experience to teach us about the inca civilisation, as well as wildlife (flora & fauna) through the trek. Gracias Adolfo.
Despite having a cloudy day at Machu Picchu with poor visibility and no ‘vista’, we all reminisced on the panoramic train back towards Cusco that the journey with TreXperience really did outweigh the destination (Machu Picchu) for us. 100% recommend.

We can only recommend it to anyone thinking of taking on the challenge (it… read more wasn’t actually as hard as we thought it would be but we are quite a fit group!). Our guide Adolfo had lots of great history and stories to tell, which were usually accompanied by ridiculously good food cooked by Amilcar and his team. Seriously, we ate better than we did in Cusco most nights!
The camping equipment was all of a very good standard, and the added touch of a hot water bottle on night one which was the coldest (-5C degrees) was hugely appreciated by all. In addition, the logistics of our trip w ere incredibly well organised thanks to Amilcar, Elmer, Wilburgh and Cecilio, meaning that nothing was amiss and we did everything in good time.
We were very unlucky with our weather on Day 5, and unfortunately the clouds never parted for us to get a full view of Machu Picchu, which Adolfo told us had never happened in his 15 years of experience (cries inside). Nonetheless, he was very cheerful and told us all the history very enthusiastically to still make it a memorable experience.
If we trek in Cusco again, I think Trexperience would certainly be our choice and our group would all highly recommend to others.

He was very informative with all the Inca sites along the way to Machu Picchu. We def learned about the history of Peru. The porters were amazing. Every meal we had were delicious, I am still thinking the soup we had every night! Each morning we were awaken with hot coca tea and hot water to wash up. At each stop site for lunch and dinner we were given fresh water and soap to wash our hands. Every moment with TreXperience were very thoughtful! To top it off, our guide Robbie made us hot espresso when we arrive to the highest peak of the trek! It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! You definitely won’t regret if you choose TreX

I thought we ate like kings and queens! I didn’t bring gloves because it was hot during the day in Cusco but I wish that I had because we ended up in an ice pellet storm on day 2. It was challenging but SO rewarding!!! I am so glad I chose to see Machu Picchu this way instead of the train and bus. Seeing it through the sun gate was fantastic! I did train before this hike and would recommend doing that because it is much harder to hike at altitude! Overall I had the absolute time of my life!!! Would highly recommend Trexperience and would do it myself again!

Our experience was just extraordinary! The big role here played our tour guide Carlos, who was funny, caring, very experienced, friendly, had a bunch of amazing stories for us and possessed a great knowledge of the Ketchua (Inca) people. I have learned soo much from him.
Oh and the food is divine!! We ate like kings thanks to chef Julio Cesar!
I am really Grateful for this experience and would recommend it to anyone!!!!

The chef Amilcar prepared absolutely divine food and catered exceptionally well for vegetarians.
The trek itself is a great experience and Machu Picchu lived up to the hype.

He even taught us some Quechan. We were very lucky as there was only my husband and I so it became a private tour (great price!) and Filio was very patient with our pace. He was also a great photographer. Pedro was also an amazing cook and we could not fault any of the dishes. Was delicious so definitely consider booking via TreXperience as they are also a local company at a very good price compared to other Australian companies we were looking at!

There was a mandatory briefing the night before the trip to allow us to meet our tour guide, review the itinerary and give us an opportunity to ask any questions which I thought was very helpful.
The TreXperience team for my group consisted of tour guide Nilo Uscamayta, chef Celso, sous-chef Juan, and horseman Victor. I highly recommend this team – every single member worked so hard at making us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible on this journey. Nilo was very patient, empathetic and knowledgeable – some of us struggled during parts of the trek with injury or illness, and Nilo was very patient even though we moved slowly. He always encouraged us to move at a comfortable pace. He always asked how we were feeling and if there’s anything he could do to help. Nilo was very knowledgeable and was consistently giving us interesting information on the landscape, culture and history of the region. He also knew the best spots in Machu Picchu to capture beautiful photos and was always enthusiastic to take photos for us.
Every meal prepared by chef Celso and sous-chef Juan was impressive. They are truly talented to be able to prepare delicious meals with just a few tools and without a working kitchen. They even found out that it was my friend’s birthday and whipped up a personalized cake for her! The Pachamanca meal was very interesting and really demonstrated the passion that the chef and sous-chef have for cooking. Our horseman, Victor, was very attentive and always made sure that our belongings were readily available and that the campsite was setup before we arrived.
If you are considering doing a guided trek to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend this tour with TreXperience. Some parts of the trek may be difficult, but it is manageable and very scenic. You will have a very memorable time, especially if you are lucky enough to have the team that we had. Don’t think about it anymore and just book it :) !

He really took care of our needs. My dad got tired along the way and Vincent was still able to provide a fulfilling tour both on foot (for myself) and by van (for my dad).
We had somewhere to be directly after the tour and him and Donny, our driver were kind enough to offer driving us straight there after the tour!
Not only was our tour filled with breathtaking views and informative lessons, it was welcoming and filled with even better people! I would highly recommend this to others.

The porters and chefs are incredible and support the trip in crazy ways by bringing your duffle and campsite equipment to multiple checkpoints. The food was amazing and blew me away, especially since you’re in the jungle and mountains. They are able to produce such an amazing meal every time, even baking a cake for us on the last day! You’ll never go hungry trust me.
Overall I really recommend TreXperience for anyone looking to travel to Machu Picchu, the staff from top to bottom were fantastic and make the experience stress free!
