We didn’t expect that the experience would be so good. Our guides JJ and Yoner really made our trip to Machu Picchu special. But what amazed us the most was… read more the food. For example we got cake the last day made in a pan on simple cooking gear. Although the trip was challenging (soo many stairs going up and down..) the total experience was great and I would definitely recommend!
This was simply an amazing experience. Our tour guides were fantastic. Edy is so knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture of the Inca society, you can’t help but… read more be excited about it. Yoner’s happy disposition kept spirits up even during the most challenging sections. I learned more on this trek than I ever expected to. Rolando, the head chef on our tour, made delicious food every time, and made not one but two cakes (one was vegan) to celebrate the birthday of one member of our group. Everyone, from the porters, to the waiter (Jesus), to the chef, to our tour guides, made this a wonderful experience I will never forget.
Vincente Julio Deonicio Abel, the tour guide for this 5 day trek to Machu Picchu was full energy and so passionate in everything he did. I, and I can tell… read more that the group as well were so fortunate and appreciative to be around him as he encouraged us and explained all the little things that we would’ve never known while hiking and being around him. He went above and beyond to make sure that each one of us were having the times of our lives.
The chefs and porters were so humble and the food they made out of the resources available was amazing.
This trekking experience would absolutely no way be the same without Vince, the chefs and everyone involved.

The four day trek is a unique way to learn about and appreciate the local culture and nature. We had taken the train to Macchu Picchu a few years earlier… read more but the hiking trip really puts this unique wonder in perspective. Carlos and Joao were awesome guides; knowledgeable, experienced, patient. Given the restrictions by the ministry of culture— e.g. the locations of campsites and the facilities, the tour company has done an awesome job. The food by the chef Julio Cesar, was amazing: a high end introduction to the Peruvian cuisine. A team of porters had to transport everything on foot up to the three camp sites and cook the food on site. Everything was provided by the team- tours of Inca sites along the way and of course the tour of Machu Picchu at the end.
We had an amazing time on the 4 day Inca trail. Our guides Charly and Sarita were incredible and made the trip one of a kind. Thank you so much… read more for an unforgettable experience – we will be back!
What an experience. My wife and I originally planned this trip before COVID, and it did not disappoint. We knew we wanted a guide to get the most out of… read more our time in the ruins; Watner was absolutely fantastic. Met us at our hotel, sped us through the line for the bus, and explained every step of the entry process. Then he guided us through the Incan ruins themselves, patiently answering every question, sharing stories, explaining features of the mountains and the temples, and taking lots of pictures for us. I cannot recommend him highly enough; he made a dream vacation even better.
A unforgettable trip and would 100% recommend – once in a lifetime. Four days of hiking with stunning scenery and fascinating history explained by excellent tour guides with knowledge… read more and seemingly endless energy and passion. What’s more, the camping was made better by some delicious meals cooked by great chefs – where all the tents, equipment and food were carried up by porters.
Magical experience!
I booked classic Inca Trail 4 days with TreXperience on June 22, 2022 to June 25, 2022. My group had 5 people(1 couple from Denmark, 1 couple from London and… read more myself from Canada).
Our tour guide is Luis Jose Flores. We could call him Pepe but we called him MASTER after 2 days. He’s very calm, patience, funny, honest and has so much knowledge about Inca history and he loves and passionate about his country. He showed us how to pray to Pachamama with coca leaves. We all love it. He’s very well organized and timing our schedule very well making sure we have the best time. He’s even brought us the train station at the end of the trip and tell us where to wait for the train to go back to Cusco. We had so much great memory with him.
Our chefs Raymundo is an amazing chef. Menu change everyday from breakfast to lunch and dinner. We all love teatime everyday before dinner with freshly made popcorn right beside us. All the meals he made were so fresh and delicious. We all love his caramelized banana flambé with Pisco.
Porters we had 11 porters for 5 people. They work so hard. They carried our personal belongings, foods, tents, stove..every time we arrived to campsite they applauses us and bring us warm water to clean our face, hands to our tents. Warm Coca tea every morning to our tents and again warm water with their smile. They treated us like KINGS and QUEENS. Once we wanted to try to carry their backpack to see how heavy they’re carrying to climb up and down to mountains. We appreciate a lot for what they’re doing to give us the most comfortable possible.
TreXperience is very well organized for prepare our pick up dropping off on time and very friendly driver. Thank you for this great experience. I appreciate very much for the whole team made my vacation so memorable .

We had an excellent experience with trexperience on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. We had Charlie and Sara as guides and they were amazing. Charlie has an incredible knowledge… read more of both history and the nature, which he shared with the whole group on the way. Furthermore we had amazing food along the way! We even got three courses at every meal. All in all an amazing experience!
Exceeded all expectations. A truly fantastic experience. We could not have asked for a better guide in Adolfo. He is very knowledgeable about the trek, Machu Picchu, the vegetation, culture,… read more etc. Cenovio was our chef; He is very talented as well. Delicious and creative meals. The porters and horseman were also exceptional. Some of the hardest workers i’ve ever seen. Highly recommend this team.
We had an extremely good experience with our group of 8 people on the 4D Inca trail. Our guides Robinzon and Walter were social, experienced and capable to help us… read more and push forward (even during hard times, because we suffered from stomach issues).
Guide Robinzon emphasized to enjoy, look around and dont Worry about the time of arrival. He really won our trust. Sometimes we needed a bit more detail at the final day at Machu Picchu.
Guide Walter restarted to hike as a guide with our English group, and we think het also had good talent +is a nice, modest guy.
Don’t hesitate to book with Trexperience; a smaller organization run by local people.
Great landscapes, great guides, lot of knowledge and history. This is an must have in any Peru trip.
The scenery was amazing and the culture knowledge offered by Eddy our tour guide was excellent. He demonstrated a deep understanding of Incan and Quechua culture.
Food was fantastic.… read more Great group friendship. Would recommend.

Our head Chef, Walter cooked some of the most delicious meals we’ve ever had, much less on a mountain backpacking trip! The food was exquisite! JJ and Filio went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and all our goals were achieved, sometimes literally giving us the backpack covers off their backs! They were patient, positive, and motivating through all the challenges of this amazing trail. You absolutely must ask for JJ and Filio! They made an amazing trip absolutely outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about them or our experience with Trexperience. The Inka trail is the most beautiful and challenging trip we’ve taken to include the Everest Base Camp trail. Book your trip today with JJ and Filio, and ask for Walter as your Chef!!

The food was incredible from chef amilcar, some of the best I had in the whole of Peru! A big thank you also to Ruben and his team of porters. We had an excellent trip with our guide Edwin and his team from TreXperience. I couldn’t wish for a better guide. He was always ready to help and had so… read more many laughs together. While walking he also checked on us many times to see how we were doing. My girlfriend was a bit afraid about the difficulty of the trek (because of her bad knees), but with Edwin by our side, this worry was quickly gone. Also the chef, sous-chef and the horseman were incredible. They did everything to make it comfortable for us and to bring very good food to the table. Thank you for this experience. This would not be possible without you!
We had the most amazing time with the best tour guide, Charly. Charly is a man of multiple trades – he is so knowledgable about the history and culture of… read more the Inca Trail. We also found out that he is also a great photographer and a published author.
Although the Inca Trail is challenging, Charly was patient with each climber who climbed at different speed.
In addition, he introduced us to the Peruvian culture such as explaining us about the drinks that the porters were drinking.
We also had the best cook, Carmelo. He was amazing with his skills and creative with his dishes. I was always impressed by the meals.
Then, there were the impressively strong porters who were so friendly and welcoming.
It is so amazing to hear the great things that this tour company does for the porters like insurance and being the one of the first companies to employ women.
I honestly believed that we picked the best tour company. Go with a local company like this one!
Great food, great people and the best organisation of all the trips we had in Peru! Definetely worth every Penny, I would do it again! :)
We hiked past beautiful… read more scenery and though it was also exhausting and cold (bring enough warm clothing), we loved it with all the great food and conversations. Our guide was great and so was the whole team (cooks and horsemen). We were woken up with hot coffee or tea, had two matresses and a hot waterbottle to keep warm during the nights.
I can’t tell any favourit part of the tour, cause it was all great :)
Thanks a lot to Trexperience!
The trip was a truly an amazing experience. The scenery was simply stunning, it is a journey that makes the visit to Machu Picchu extra special. A special mention to… read more our guide Herbeth, our cook Valentine and the rest of the team who supported us throughout. Herbeth was extremely knowledgeable, supporting and friendly, a great person and guide. And without Valentine and his excellent and plentiful food we definitely wouldn’t have made it!
Weather was excellent too but do bring warm clothes for June.
I would recommend this trip to anyone (who has good fitness) to complete this trek!
Great Trip to Machu Picchu, definitively recommended! Organization was flawless, we did not had to take care of anything (Tickets, Hotel etc). Our guide (Fernando Benavides) had all the Information… read more about the trail, the history of the inca and peru and more.
This was an incredible experience. Edy and Yoner were fun and welcoming and made the trip a blast. They were great at providing information about each site and the culture… read more of the locals. I could not have imagined better your guides. Rolando’s food was literally to die for. I could not believe he was able to make some of the dishes in the middle of such a long trek. Jesus, our waiter, made every dinner feel like home and was lovely and attentive. Profirio and his team of porters went above and beyond expectations I didn’t even know I had. They work so hard and made everything perfect. All of the sites were beautiful and Machu Picchu is unmatched. It cannot be described in words how amazing this experience was. I HIGHLY recommend Trexperience and this group of individuals. Simply the best!
A magical experience with Sara, my guide, from
Trexperience! The organisation of this trip with the company was smooth and they were responsive on WhatsApp with all my questions! Sara,… read more my guide, was super informative and knowledgeable about Macchu Picchu. She answered all my questions and is passionate about the site and the area, as she is a local Andean. Sara was able to show me all the key areas of Macchu Picchu and avoid most of the crowds for photos as well! Highly recommend the team and especially Sara! Will def return to do more tours with Trexperience!
Fantastic experience with our excellent guide Robby. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on this trek. It is hard but it is worth it! Our guide was kind… read more enough to let us maintain our pace ahead of the group. At one point he even ran to catch up with us ( rest of the group was 30 minutes behind) to give us directions and ensure we were fine! I would definitely recommend this trek & this company! This company "suggests" that everyone should tip 80-100 sols to each porters and 10-15% of the tour fee to guide as a tip after booking. it’s not right to… read more inform that after booking. Even though each tour company said that tips are not included. but I have asked people who booked other travel agencies and there is no "suggestion" on how much to tip.
The tour fee is 700 US dollars per person. Even if each person gives minimum 10% as the tips(70USD), our group was 16 people, then that is 1,120 US dollars for the tour guides for 4 days working. I think that’s too much. I’m totally fine with the tips for porters, because they really did hard work. but giving 70 USD for our tour guides? Nope

We had two guides Robinzon and Walter who both were fantastic in keeping our spirits up even when morale was low due to the high altitude. They looked after us “fragile hikers” very well. Robinzon was our main guide who spoke English quite well and was able to share interesting stuff with us about Quechua people and the local flora and fauna. He had a great sense of humour and even made coffee for us on the Dead And Woman’s pass!!! What a life saver.
This was Walter’s first trip with an English speaking group and he dealt with us with the outmost care. He was so humble and lovely we really liked him.
About the porters:
For 8 people we had 16! Porters carrying everything for us! Primo was our head porter who made it to camp first everyday and claimed the best spots for our tents. These guys are the real super heroes running up the mountains with 20kg on their backs like it’s nothing. They greeted us with smiles and cheers every time we made it to camp. Whereas in actual reality they are the ones who deserve the cheering. We got hot water every night so we could wash off the dust of the road which I thought was a nice touch.
About dining:
We had 1 chef, 1 assistant chef and 1 waiter with us for the whole trip. This was a great opportunity to try local foods and get to know the different type of potatoes, fruits and corn of the region.
Every day 3 x we were treated like Inkas (kings) and were served at least 3 different types of dish.
Most evening meals were washed off by a Muna tea and we had nice fresh coffee at breakfast.
About the Inka trail:
We are hobby hikers and Munro baggers in Scotland ( so in good shape) but I would say that the trek was tough going. Although, It was worth all the pain for seeing a small part of the Andes and how people in there live. And of course the mighty Machu Picchu . We dreamt about being there so many times and experiencing it and after the 4 day trek it was even more special to us. We even climbed Wayna Picchu. The only thing is that due to the second climb we were not able to get a full tour (2.5 hrs maximum) and didn’t hear about the history of Machu Picchu as much as we would have liked to. But we can read all the books about it later while browsing through our pictures.
Amazing trail with amazing views! Our private guide Jose Luis made those 2 days such a fun and great experience. The best guide we ever had!

I promise you will not regret booking a trip with TreXperience!!

I… read more highly recommend this hike with Mari, she was a great guide and helpful throughout the trip!! If I could give than 5 stars I would!
First of all, I’ll start with the good things and then, some that personally it needs to be improved.
POSITIVE: first of all, the company is avobe others just… read more for the simple fact that they pay fairly to people, don’t over exploit them like others do (for example Alpaca expedition, we’ve seen double the KG a porter should be carrying), they also have nice details like the train back to Cusco is 360 panoramic (not all companies do that, just a few).
When it comed to porters, they are great, fast and efficient hars workers that are 100% paying attention to you since day 1. Special mention to the cookers, they are like god master chefs who cook amazing things in the middle of nowhere, most of the food was even better than the restaurants, incredible, geniuses.
Finally, thank you for the guides to take care of us and lead us all the way to Machupicchu, especial mention to @Juvenal, an amazing guide who’s organization was perfectly executed since the breefing day 0. He knows a lot about psychology of groups and how to handle them in tough situations, prepare them psychology for what’s to come and manage sudden events like that could affect or even end someone’s treck. We were amaze also by his knowledge of the culture and the trecking history. I’ve done lots of trecks like this around the world and I could say he’s one of the best, if not tge best guide ever had. Wish him the best in the future. I would repeat any future experience with him without doubt.
NEGATIVE: they promise premium customer service, and during the treck, we sort of had it, they claim to be avobe other companies when it comes to paychecks and caring people, and they are, but they also claim to be resourceful if any things turns wrong before the treck and to adapt an itinerary to you… and that, they didn’t deliver. Altitude sicknes hit me pretty hard first week in Peru and for one week we were asking yo have a plan B and gives us a final plan and pricing in case we had to cancel, they never did, and it was pretty chaotic, as the breefing sesion with our main guide Robinson. On that they didn’t deliver and I hope in the future they improve on that area, it was pretty disappointing to see they claim yo differentiate from the competence on that, to adjust and be more "personal" and flexibile in case something happens before the trip but unfortunately they didn’t.
THIS IS A DIRECT COMPLAIN TO THE COMPANY AND NOT THE AMAZING TEAM THEY HIRE TO EXECUTE THE TRECK. SO THE EXPERIENCE YOU’LL GET DURING AND FROM THE TEAM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS NEGATIVE PART FROM THE COMPANY.
I will still give them the 5 star hoping they improve that in the future!
Highly recommended! Had an amazing time thanks especially to our guide Carlos Ccolcca who was very knowledgeable and friendly and our chef Julio Cesar who cooked us amazing 5 course… read more meals every night including a birthday cake on my birthday. Can’t wait to come again!

I cannot explain… read more to you enough how much this trip impacted my life. It was so memorable! We couldn’t have done it with this level of Luxury without TreXperience and their amazing team. We arrived on the 4th day at Machu Picchu thinking it would be a cloudy rainy day but the clouds broke and it was incredible. The team encouraged us and thanks to JJ and Filio we remained positive! Thank you Pachamama!!!!
My tour guide was Agustin and he was amazing! He was on time, flexible and very informative! When we got off the train, Augustin had my name written on a… read more piece of paper waving it to make sure we could see him! We arrived at around 12:20pm but we were a little hungry, so we asked him if it’s possible we could eat. He agreed and told us to enjoy 1 hour for lunch then the tour would start afterwards. The tour didn’t finish until 5pm-ish so just calculate the time he spent with us. He took his time with us and there were only two of us in our private tour. So he really went into the details. He also took amazing pictures of us!! I would definitely ask him to be my tour guide again when I come back to Peru! And yes, he got a well deserved tip! ;)

He would stay with the last person in the group, making them not feel like a burden and helping with all of our needs along the trek. We were always met with great nutritious meals delivered by our chef Vacilio and sous chef Eusebio, which would enable us to travel great distances. Lastly, our personal belongings would always greet us at our campsites or before meals due to the extraordinary diligence of our horseman Frank. I had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go on more trekking experiences.
