I thought we ate like kings and queens! I didn’t bring gloves because it was hot during the day in Cusco but I wish that I had because we ended up in an ice pellet storm on day 2. It was challenging but SO rewarding!!! I am so glad I chose to see Machu Picchu this way instead of the train and bus. Seeing it through the sun gate was fantastic! I did train before this hike and would recommend doing that because it is much harder to hike at altitude! Overall I had the absolute time of my life!!! Would highly recommend Trexperience and would do it myself again!

This company "suggests" that everyone should tip 80-100 sols to each porters and 10-15% of the tour fee to guide as a tip after booking. it’s not right to… read more inform that after booking. Even though each tour company said that tips are not included. but I have asked people who booked other travel agencies and there is no "suggestion" on how much to tip.
The tour fee is 700 US dollars per person. Even if each person gives minimum 10% as the tips(70USD), our group was 16 people, then that is 1,120 US dollars for the tour guides for 4 days working. I think that’s too much. I’m totally fine with the tips for porters, because they really did hard work. but giving 70 USD for our tour guides? Nope

The porters who were the hidden heroes who setup our camps before we even arrive and have everything planned out. And ofcourse, the food was amazing! Thanks to our chef for catering to our every need and dietary restrictions and providing us with the most delicious meals!

Half our group almost didnt complete the trip, two had sore knees from downhill steps, one had a sore back and altitude sickness, and a teenager burnt himself out on the first day throwing up and diarrhea. But our guides, Eddie and Rosa were excellent. They really cared about the group and lived the Quechuan culture of Family. Eddie was extremely passionate about the history and culture and Rosa was always smiling and laughing. porters from Pisac were also amazing. They ran around furiously after tirelessly hiking up and down dead womans pass to set up tents and mattresses for those that were struggling so they could get some rest. One of the group that was sick fell into some bushes and got small burrs all over his sweater. One porter spent half an hour picking the burrs out while he got some rest. Way above and beyond. Thank you Juvenal for all that you and your porters did for us. As most people say, the food was also excellent. Chef Raymundo made some amazing dishes and his fruit art was incredible. There was honestly way too much food. More than our group could possibly eat. If you want a truly unique experience and that once in lifetime experience of walking into Machu Picchu after a well earned trek, then do this trek. You definitely cant go wrong with TreXperience.

I would imagine most companies just pick you up, take you there and then drop you back but this tour had GOURMET breakfast and lunch included prepared by the genius chef that is Lorenzo with his assistant Miguel looking out onto the mountain range. The driver James was equally incredible driving for several hours on roads that many would not dare to try.

The atmosphere was so fun, we always had something to do and the equipment was high quality, clean and comfortable. The hotel on the last night was beautiful as well. I seriously cannot recommend this trip enough.

He… read more told us stories of the Incas, of the stars and of the different Quechua communities and kept us entertained when the going (altitude) got tough. Melchor served up excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and somehow managed to bake a pie and a cake after a long day of trekking. Pedro and Juan were excellent su chefs and porters, waking us up with hot coca tea in the mornings and ensuring we had warm water to wash our hands and faces with after a long day of hiking, and even bringing us hot water bottles to keep us warm on the first and second night.
Communication from Trexperience in the run up to the trek was fantastic. The whole trek was organised really well, from collection from our hostel on the first day to drop off on the last day (including collecting our luggage from the office and then the onward travel from the office back to our hostel). Everything ran smoothly without the slightest glitch. Would highly recommend!

Spectacular! From start to finish everything was clear and well organized. Pick up went as planned and the ride was comfortable, the company also stored the rest of our stuff.… read more We were given duffle bags for things that we didn’t want or need in our day backs and those were carried by amazing porters, more on them later. We also rented sleeping bags, inflatable pads and tracking poles -everything was in very good condition and served us well. The food throughout the whole trek was just out of this world. I don’t know how they managed to cook such an wholesome dishes in conditions that one finds on a hike, but it was incredible, from traditional Peruvian soups, ceviche to cakes (yes, that’s right). The guides were always helpful, cheerful and ready to say something interesting. Porters were supporting and the service they provide is unbelievable, we didn’t worry about anything (and there is a lot of things to worry about/they provide: food, camps, water, tents and other facilities), because we knew that we can rely on them.
Only time when we felt a bit uncomfortable was during the "tipping ceremony".
All in all we got to see sooo many lovely views, animals, plants and history, while hiking safely and supporting the local people.
Inca trail is hard but so worth it. Thank you Trexperience for a chance to be a part of this.

I couldn’t have done this without their help and support. The porters and the chef, Julio Cesar, were fantastic, having everything set up for us when we arrived at camp —and the food was great! Even at camp, chef not only prepared a wonderful variety of more than we could eat, but the presentation was unbelievable. We even had fresh flowers on the tables! Our morning started with hot cocoa tea delivered to our tents, then a breakfast for champions. After hiking all morning, a terrific lunch was served, At the end of a full day of trekking, we enjoyed “tea time” popcorn, crackers and jam, hot chocolate, and of course tea. Then came our 4-5 dish dinner! Every day was different, deliciously prepared, very creatively presented.

Our guide Robbie and the entire crew… read more of porters and cooks took great care of us and made sure we all started and finished together. We were woken up with hot coca tea delivered to our tents every morning and well fed with some of the most amazing hot meals and multi course lunches and dinners. Robbie made sure we got up early to beat the crowds so we could have the Inca sites to ourselves to enjoy in a relaxing manner and get great photos. This company goes above and beyond and the main reason id recommend them is how well they treat their employees. They all work so hard and they voiced to be happy working for this company. It always feels nice supporting a business that takes care of their own.

I was really thankful that he stopped… read more multiple times during our hike so I could take breaks and he made sure no one was left behind (we had a mix of faster hikers and slower hikers in our group). Charlie was also a really good photographer and will take many many beautiful pictures of you! Our trail tickets only let us into Machu Picchu once (no bathrooms inside Machu Picchu), however, my boyfriends stomach was not feeling well and we needed to use the restroom mid tour, Charlie was able to talk to the ticketing counter to get us an exception so we could re-enter Machu Picchu again. We absolutely loved the packed lunch on our hike, however we did not enjoy the dinner chosen by the tour company. The restaurant they chose was low quality with limited options. We ended up going to eat somewhere else after the group dinner was over.

Arriving at Machu Picchu they were knowledgeable and happy as ever to answer questions and take us through this truly breath taking place.

Our tour guide is Luis Jose Flores. We could call him Pepe but we called him MASTER after 2 days. He’s very calm, patience, funny, honest and has so much knowledge about Inca history and he loves and passionate about his country. He showed us how to pray to Pachamama with coca leaves. We all love it. He’s very well organized and timing our schedule very well making sure we have the best time. He’s even brought us the train station at the end of the trip and tell us where to wait for the train to go back to Cusco. We had so much great memory with him.
Our chefs Raymundo is an amazing chef. Menu change everyday from breakfast to lunch and dinner. We all love teatime everyday before dinner with freshly made popcorn right beside us. All the meals he made were so fresh and delicious. We all love his caramelized banana flambé with Pisco.
Porters we had 11 porters for 5 people. They work so hard. They carried our personal belongings, foods, tents, stove..every time we arrived to campsite they applauses us and bring us warm water to clean our face, hands to our tents. Warm Coca tea every morning to our tents and again warm water with their smile. They treated us like KINGS and QUEENS. Once we wanted to try to carry their backpack to see how heavy they’re carrying to climb up and down to mountains. We appreciate a lot for what they’re doing to give us the most comfortable possible.
TreXperience is very well organized for prepare our pick up dropping off on time and very friendly driver. Thank you for this great experience. I appreciate very much for the whole team made my vacation so memorable .
